... road construction 'slow downs' with single lanes for miles. Probably the 'worst' travel day of the trip in terms of both construction and truck traffic.

1:12 PM - Ohio.

3:40 PM - Columbus, Ohio.

5:40 PM - Wheeling, WV.

5:50 PM - Greeted by our home state of Pennsylvania with road construction & orange barrels!

... have 8 kids ranging in age from 3 to 17, while Kay and I have two aged 10 and 13.

When we arrived, we were met by Ron, Kathryn (8) and Brendan (3). I offered to take Kathryn for a quick ride, which we did. She was able to take the controls and make a couple of simple turns, then we headed over town to look for her house. It took a few minutes, but we finally found it, and headed back.

This is where we stayed the first night. We ended up having to go to the weigh scales on our way out, and to gas-up. We didn't leave Virginia until about noon. :\ We went through the mountains of Maryland and West Virginia, then entered Pennsylvania.
Our route was :
