Back in the US! And what a long couple of days too… I guess
I should back up a couple of days and fill ya all in.

Friday was beach day, which everyone looks forward to. I
wanted to work another day but that wasn’t an option ;) Since this was a winter
trip and we had so many people, our closing ceremony was at the Cultural Center,
where we went for dance lessons my first summer in Honduras. Little emotional,

As Christmas Day is nearing an end, I am just finishing packing all of the soccer cleats, balls, jerseys shin guards, socks, etc. thoughtfully donated by friends and colleagues at LIS and LHS. Even though I didn't get to sleep until 3:30 am, I was up Saturday at 5:30, filled with anxiety and dread at my impending departure from my true home away from home. My workers and my Ana Lucia were coming at 7, and I just watched the minutes tick by until I had to say my final goodbyes for this year. ...

    And the packing has begun!

In 5 days I will be heading to Honduras for my third service trip, and I couldn't be more excited! Joining me this summer will be Matt again, who has recruited his cousin Lizzy, Julia- one of my Spanish 3 students from this past school year, and my friend Xiao Hua from kickboxing. As always, gathering supplies and donations to ...

... Delaware River. The day started off a bit dreary and initially it rained, but it was actually good that it wasn’t too hot and sunny as we were on the river for about 4 hours! It took a bit longer than usual as the river was flowing very slowly. We were very organised and had rope, floating eskies, drinks, snacks, etc! It took about two hours to get there on a bus (there were 4 buses) and we had to wait a while to get lifejackets before we could set off. We ...
