... along the way.
To get over to the Island you can either walk or do the tourist option which was a horse drawn tram ride which cost $7 return which is what we did. A trusty steed called Misty took us over and we sat on the top deck to take in the views. It was bloody cold and fairly windy but it was the best seat in the house. Once we got to the Island me Laura and Ann decided to do the long trail which takes about 40mins to walk around with tourist lookout ...

... a bit like that here. Hot cold. We bought a delicious ice cream, and headed back to the car. Now the fun begins…
Jan’s Map reading skills returned, as we were heading for a certain place, but taking the long way there. Very long. If we were kids, by now we would have been asking 'how much longer?’ Once I stopped the car, and had a look at the map, turns out poor ol Jan was on the wrong page. How we got to Myponga ...

In case you missed that...
We were overjoyed and took this as a good omen. After posing for this photo we had an amazing surf in the winter sun.
That night we had a nice meal at local restaurant and went to bed early. Whale ...
... there are so many) overlooking the sea. This was built in 1910 as a private residence in Queen Anne style and was extended in 1912. It was formerly called Warringa. As usual we wanted fish for dinner and carefully chose a dish of John Dory that didn't include chips....but of course it did! It was a lovely peaceful meal, watching night fall. We walked along the sea edge and then through a few history lined streets back to our hotel.
Victor Harbor, South Australia, Australia acctaste... 3, Will had us all up and out by 7 a.m. - we had a lot to see and do before the drive to Adelaide. We stopped for morning views of the Grampian mountain range, walked MacKenzie Falls, and wrapped up another hike to the top of another local peak, Hollow Mountain. The Swiss may have Alps, but I'm from Florida and it seemed like a pretty high climb to me! We all had a blast reaching the summit, and enjoyed the long morning at the top overlooking the area. The rest of the day included ...
Adelaide, Victoria, Australia slpbls... 4 GB card gives 3 hours of recording, and this is the way I will go, using several of these instead of using a big 32GB card, which could get corrupted or lost. This was also why I didn't want a HDD camera, what if you lose the camera? uploading to a small computer isn't practical and uploading to You Tube is just too slow. Several people have been kind enough to email us with suggestions as to our trip, please ...
Kangarilla, South Australia, Australia jimandelle... mattress and moved in, just a few finishing touches to complete! And it is only 70 days to go before we leave for our motor homing adventure in Europe. My arm got twisted to extend for another two weeks to spend in the UK, so we return the motor home to Frankfurt as planned, but instead of flying home we fly to London to spend 2 weeks with daughter Trudy who lives there. So I guess we will see a bit more of the UK than we ...
Kangarilla, South Australia, Australia jimandelle... on Tuesday after a brilliant week in the Northern Territory. Darwin is crazy town. The highest concentration of nut jobs in oz! They say that half the people in Darwin are on the run from someone or something as they know no one will look for them up there! It is redneck central and we arrived the day before Australia day so the bogans (aussie for chav) and their pimped up utes where out in force. Just to point out what a disgrace it is that Australia day is when it is. It is on ...
Adelaide, Ohio, Australia claire_noel... this wine region possible). We checked into a BIG 4 park, the kids were out the car door before we had stopped, making a beeline for the playground that contained heaps of kids. Big 4 parks whilst the most expensive on the market, are worth it if just for the free time afforded the parents. There is plenty to amuse them and you can count on heaps of other kids around, especially weekends. We set up camp for 6 nights, I cannot remember how long it took to set up, I wasn't ...
