... venues I was going to see has changed his date. I changed my dates for Scotland and England because of that. Anyway, though many things have changed, many things will remain the same. Libraries and universities don't move (thank goodness!). Also, many things I'll be doing are now going to be "better" because I've had more time to search.
... HUGE park) 10 miles south of Eufaula, OK. The entry road was miles long into the park. There was an airstrip, 18 hole golfcourse, horse rentals, marina and boat rentals absoluetly no one here. Price was right. With water and electric: $21.
Monday, drove short distance to town of Eufaula, OK. Dreary kind of place. Went to their one grocery store-very, very poor selection of foods ...

... the stomach to try that out! While the town was less than desirable with strip malls, hardware stores and fast food joints lining the roads, the state park and Dardanelle lake were beautiful. We found ourself a picnic table in the shade with a nice cool breeze so we barely felt the 39 degree heat! ... are the top of a plateau because all the trees are gone and you just have these rolling hills of grass. Once you cross the Oklahoma border, you are back into the treeline. Because it took over an hour and half to get lunch (note to self ... don't eat at the Chili's in Alexandria, LA), we didn't pull into our hotel until after 8pm. Made for a very long day. Two more long days of driving ... but it will be worth it in the ...
