... and warm-hearted people today…what a nice town to spend a day in. As Cliff said, no one’s in a huge rush around here and everyone knows each other, so it makes for a very welcoming atmosphere. We were even told to keep the combination code to the gate lock at the fairgrounds in case we ever pass through there again and need a free place to stay. I really love small towns and I’m really humbled by how inviting they’ve been to us…
... some more info, and discovered that it was a good 2 hr detour in addition to the 45 min walk, and the hole was indeed dry... Glad we checked before making our way there!! We explored a couple of other options, but all would have added like 4 hrs to our already long drive, so Dardanelle it was, and we picked up some drive through Sonic that boasted 24 different milkshake flavors including peanut butter and bacon.
