We finished our last locks of the trip! Yahoo!
We stayed at the Troy public docks and walked the city area. It was hopping with many people beginning their weekend celebrations and lots of outdoor restaurants were full of diners enjoying the warm summer night.
... Champlain. We parked up unbeknownst to us at a YMCA camp. The walk was beautiful as we trekked along the rocky shoreline of the lake, with the calm waters and green hills of New York State as the perfect backdrop. ... okay, yet boring hiking, night hiking was planned - but it started to rain, so we stayed at 10 mile shelter with Mother Goose and a section hiker named Russ. There was plenty of great conversation, lots of laughing, and today ended great - thanks to the company we had :) The Big Agnes UL3 still allows water to soak up from the floor, and also "spits" water through the rain fly...when heavy rain falls.
