Leiden, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands phil.kirby... were closed. :-(

We got back to the LLC a little before 1, contemplated just changing clothes (because we were so wet and cold) and heading back out with our TA and his friends, whom we met up with when we got back to the building. But the consensus was it was bed time and neither of us had the energy to do any more. I got back to my room, took a VERY hot shower because I smelled like beer, cigarettes, pot (yes pot, it was ...
Leiden, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands hachbach... as you will see, which made things exciting. The guide/captain was supposed to warn us of these bridges, but after a while I think he forgot, which made things even MORE exciting, add a little bit of danger to our calm boat trip! Not much else to say about this, I'll basically let the pictures speak for themselves. But, we did learn some cool facts about the city. So.....

1) During the 80 years war (AKA the 30 Years war, but it was 80 ...
Leiden, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands hachbach... class feeling simultaneously inspired and terrified! We went to the pub after, beer was definitely required! While at the pub, discussing the class, our fears, the Professor, etc, etc, guess who walks in? Yep, that would be the Prof and the TA, they sat at the table next to us. Awkward. But it improved as we chatted them up, learned our International Law Prof is a bit of a slave driver. We received warnings about needing to memorize all the ...

Amsterdam, Netherlands ravibo... painting. This museum held about 250 of Van Gough's 500 original paintings still left. They even had original sketches that he himself did on the back of cardboard boxes and anything else he could find at the time. I ended up buying a poster of my favorite piece I saw there, which was a butterfly picture with a mixture of bright and dark colors. Definitely worth going to see. We ate more peanut butter and jelly ...
Nada. Entretanto descobri uma igreja no ...
Amsterdam, Netherlands tiagosgd... a deep, rich moat of a balsamic-based sauce. The chops were grilled but had a roasted flavour to them. Juicy and tender ... this dish was a thing of beauty - a mountain of potatoes capped with two chops and a sausage. More majestic and beautiful than the Jungfrau in Switzerland! Dessert was 3 types of cheese, including a blue cheese that wasn't nasty, and was actually surprisingly good. The toasted pine nuts were a nice ...

I recall sitting at the Port Authority Bus Terminal/NYC in 1971 and befriending a fellow freak. I asked him to watch my guitar while I took a leak. I knew both he and my Fender Telecaster would still be there when I returned. They were. In its day, Guitar Army fit into our cloth school backpacks with ...
