... each way. Day 2 we head into town after a mani/pedi for Erin and a foot reflexology treatment for me. While in town we wandered around the mostly deserted streets looking for a local place to get some fish. We find a spot right on the water..right off the dock we see schools of tiny guppy like fish. We decide on a peppered fried fish and a pad Thai with squid. Both were fabulous, the squid was so fresh. The fried fish was also really ...

The only other thing that we did on Lanta was to go to a cat and dog rescue centre. It runs off donations ...

... alternative centre is Patong on the west coast - where the streets are lined with blinking neon and flashing ladies, and boys, and ladyboys. Famous for its nightlife and 3.5 Km beach that runs the entire length of the town, where low season rain has little affect on the industry. Bar street is Bangla Road, if you're straight and the Paradise Complex if your not. Prostitution in Thailand is illegal, but tolerated and the road is lined with clubs, go go bars and touts ...

... are we to get rid of our dry garbage?

You, being an astute reader, already see what is coming. Darren, being a fairly astute individual himself, had arrived at a solution that is commonly practiced on the island: just drive across the island and find someone else’s blue barrel to dump your garbage in. OK, short term this seemed logical, but if we are going to be permanent residents on Koh Lanta, we need a guilt free solution. A lifetime ...
