... You can understand the reason for pilgrims slowly pacing up the hill with the sounds of the gentle wind, distant thunder and a few birds chirping. Nature draws you in, the churches reaching higher as if to physically try and touch heaven, a place to 'find God' or at least petition him for help. Venturing into a thunderstorm we dodge lightning bolts along a slippery, narrow road then bursting into the sunlight we head toward the magical castle at Bojnice. ...

These groves my be great if your in a car but when your on two wheels and it feels like you are just getting pulled about, with the added bonus of the wind and a nice big large truck behind me. We enjoyed our evening out in the "city."  Although it was only one day, we discovered a charm to Slovakia with its sleepy villages and deserted highways.  Hopefully, we get a chance to visit again and hike through some of the highly touted trails before the country becomes just another tourist destination. ...

I started the day with a breakfast at the camping at 7am, as I forgot to think about where the sun would rise, and sure thing it had turned my tent into a sauna by 6:45. I then proceeded to set off for Trencin, with the target of making it before noon. I chose to cycle on an alternately rocky / paved path along the Náh, but my biggest problem was a very strong face wind anyways, preventing me from riding above 13km/h. So I ...
