55 Avenue Pueblo Nuevo Caye Caulker, Belize Cayes, Belize, (501)-226-0118-
The trip to Belize was actually pretty smooth, with the usual surprise tax at immigration when leaving Guatemala. You can really see the difference between Belize and the other Latin American countries as soon as you cross the border. The houses look different, a lot of them were on stilts, the people were mostly black and English speaking. We arrived in Belize city and waited for the water-taxi to bring us to Caye Caulker (pronounce key cauka). There, we met Adrien and Marine, a French coupl...
Caye Caulker, Belize Cayes, Belize leprefrog Although we would have liked to have gotten an early start today, it seems that we always get an early start and we were tired so we slept in until 9:00 AM. We set of for Caye Caulker on a public bus which was really a colorful old American school bus. Once arriving in Belize City we took a 45 minute long water taxi ride into Caye Caulker. It was a very fun ride until the rain hit us along the way. However, the taxi had an indoor section and we were able to get some shelter there.

... Independence Day' celebrations. A little like Notting Hill Carnival but on a much smaller scale. Loads of Reggea music, brightly coloured costumes etc. The locals really made an effort for the tourists to join in and make you feel welcome. That evening Cass and I had the best meal on Caye Caulker, lobster at Rosies Restaurant. OMG, it was so nice to get something decend to eat as we'd been eating **** since we arrived. We resulted one day in rolls and Dairlylea as the ...
Caye Caulker, Belize Cayes, Belize kelmo... ones north to south and east to west, through the whole country, have oodles of pedestrians, cyclists, speedbumps and litter.

That being said, after briefly exploring Belize City one afternoon, we spent our two full days on Caye Caulker -- the most laid back place I´ve ever been. Or perhaps that´s an understatement. It´s possible that it´s laid back during the high season. But apparently it´s low season right now, because the place is soooo quiet. At ...
Caye Caulker, Belize Cayes, Belize kimandjohn... be here for about 4 days before heading back to Mexico though, so I guess it’s not too bad. Gives me more chances to insult parents by talking about their hija's mammaries.

Belize is great. I’ll admit I was a little hesitant due to other experiences I’ve had in the Caribbean, where I was constantly offered drugs and Milli was constantly looked up and down, but here people have been lovely. Sure, I still get offered drugs but when I say no ...
Caye Caulker, Belize Cayes, Belize shanemilliWe got a water taxi to Caye Caulker which is now only a small island as it got split by a hurricane and now the bigger part is just forest and mangroves and only about three people live there now! The smaller part however is really cool! You can walk round it in about an hour, and all the roads are sand and there are no cars. People either walk, cycle or get golf cart taxis!! The whole place was really chilled ...

That night, Sandy and James freed the local dog then after watching it jumping around with glee we all went to bed happy that the poor thing was no longer tied up! Not the best ...
Caye Caulker, Belize nikandads2008... and dipped in the river when it got to hot to bear. I made a quick stop at the ancient Mayan ruins of Tikal, which are absolutely mind-boggling. Now I am in Belize, on Caye Caulker...keeping a careful eye on Alma, the tropical storm that is hitting Nicaragua and Honduras now. I asked a local here about the weather, which had turned from sun to sheets of rain and pounding wind in a matter of hours. He said, "Well ...
Caye Caulker, Belize snowchick2001... to avoid spending the next 5 days in a deco chamber and came up slowly. The sharks continued to follow closely as I ascended and were still right there at 5 m while i did a safety stop. It was truly an amazing dive and after an hour surface interval, we had a second dive at a site called half moon cay. A sandy bottom with 7 stingrays and 2 spotted eagle rays. Then lunch on an island and finally a second dive at Long Cay Aquarium where we saw 2 turtles. ming soon....
Caye Caulker, Belize muzz_travelling... contributed at the other end also with some towering headers from set pieces. Caye Caulker is all about the marine life. I went scuba diving here and saw some eels, turtles and barracudas, managed to breathe the whole time, which was nice. The scuba diving was trumped by the snorkeling. We got a boat to a place called stingray alley. In only about 5ft of water there was about half a dozen stingrays swimming round my feet, one even swam between my legs ...
