... where they tried to put us on a bus. We refused and they realized we were suppose to meet our guide on the island, on the other side of the castle! So we raced over there only to find no tour guides, oddly we randomly asked a women who turned out to be our tour guide and she took us around old town, explaining the history, the statues and the background of the main island. ... I looked up to see hot air balloons rising in the evening sky. There were at least four balloons floating toward me as the full moon was rising over Gamla Stan. What a lovely ending to the day.

But of course Lars was still out and about with his classmates. He returned home with many stories. I invited him to write his own entry but he declined. So, I'll leave the details to him but here are two photos of his evening.

We really can't believe our luck, the sun is still shining and although it's still cold, its perfect! Everyone tells us that it's very unseasonal and that the temperature should be at least a few degrees warmer, however we are so pleased that the weather is clear and fine, that we are overlooking the chill!
Today we started with a boat ride on the Baltic Sea and got a fabulous look at Stockholm from the water. This has to be one of the loveliest cities ...

... the museum we stopped for lunch at a sausage van where a very nice Chorizo sausage in a bun was eaten before entering the museum.

Although i have an interest in maritime history having studied the Mary Rose at school and found it quite interesting i did wonder how a shipwreck was going to engage us for anything more than a quick look around.
