Mike and John thought we should have walkie-talkies for the trip and Karen and I wondered why cell phones weren’t good enough, but they had fun with them for a while. He explained that he used to have a dairy farm with about 50 cows (that took his wife and daughters approx. 45mins to hand-milk) while he tended to daily farm work. Another drive and we arrive at Clifford's home where his wife (name slips my memory) cooked up a beautiful meal including home baked bread and a chocolate cream pie to die for.
Time to head back to the hotel for a cuppa and a bit of shut eye.
I promise some photos in the next couple of days ...

... where her husband gave a little talk on modern quilting. Weeks is already at Paducah so we'll visit the booth when we go to the show. Next was a visit to the Field Museum in Chicago and lunch before boarding the bus for the three hour drive to Tuscola. Here we went to Flessor's Candy Kitchen for dinner....what a great place to visit. Good home ...
