We are traveling this time with Mike and Karen Wirtzberger, my brother and his wife, and our two Golden Retrievers, Beckett and Brodie. They bought a motor home this past winter and we have been planning this trip since then. A very lovely day which would have only been lovelier if we could have spent it with friends and family back home. But everyone sent John wonderful birthday greetings throughout the entire day, so I know we weren't far from people's thoughts. :)

Filled to overflowing we climbed back onto the bus and headed to Beachys Grocery Store...no fabric here but still worth a look at an interesting selection of food and household items.
Next stop was a little quilt shop called Melrose Quilts & Sewforth. Not much ...

Off to the Frank Lloyd Wright home in Oak Park (a suburb of Chicago)....he's a famous Chicago architect. A very interesting house to visit. His style was to create a room within a room and to blend the building with nature using panoramic windows to give the feel of nature flowing into the building. Then it was just a short walk to Weeks Ringles Modern ...
