... a fabulous experience. Going from Winter into the NH Summer and 40+ deg temperatures I wonder what awaits. Gold and Spice Souks, 4WD on sand dunes and an Arabian Night experience, bird's eye view from the world's tallest building may be. Wow can't wait.

... canada, a guy from Colorado, a guy from Germany, a girl from South America (can't remember what country), and two Australians living in crunchy town. Their house is always open to couchsurfers, and they have a spare bedroom just for the surfers. Of course that means we had to share the small bedroom with 4-6 other people (they were coming and going, and a couple had been there a while already). ... opposite from ours in the U.S. so you need to check in the opposite direction from us for oncoming traffic.
Most of the restaurants here are independently owned. We saw a few franchise businesses such as McDonalds, KFC, and Subway. They also have many 7 Elevens up and down the streets. We saw a couple of grocery stores, IGA and Aldi.
Today was a busy day and we covered a lot of territory. We'll see what tomorrow brings!

Things we learnt from this holiday: - Kath and Paul had more to talk about than Gemma, and that travelling and being together on their own was not half bad - Our house is huge, well, compared to a single room - Cities smaller than Melbourne can have a perfectly functional underground rail system - Wifi is readily available for free everywhere except Australia - Light beer in European countries does not mean low ...
... and got onto our Le Truck for our 2 1/2 hr tour. It was fantastic. We drove right around the island, I bought a top, we had 5 stops along the way and once again, being on the left of the bus, I was able to get some amazing photos. The island was a base for American Troops in 1942 during the war.
