... down to 10kmh. He was driving Shigeki mad. Shigeki couldn't overtake until the road straightened out a bit but the other car behind us wasn't as patient and went past us in a flash.

We had a dinner stop at a roadside diner Lake Suwa, about 2 hours out of Tachikawa. This was the second biggest one that we had been to. The one that we went to on the way to Lake Shirokoma with Shigeki and Norzin was the largest one. I had an udon noodle soup ...

Photo with young man dressed as a ninja with a sword -missed the one in warrior costume. Further along the road, promoting a walking quiz thing-cute character photo opportunity. Steve ...

      ... just half way through.

We drove back whilst looking for a restaurant to have a late lunch. In the end, we found a little restaurant which served soba (buckwheat) noodles with tempura. Shigeki opted for cold noodles dipped in soy sauce whereas the rest of us preferred the hot variety with soup.

Another hour or so later, Shigeki stopped at a truck stop for a break. This is nothing like what we have at home. It is huge with ...

We whiled the morning away doing more window shopping after breakfast. We were to catch the train to Tachikawa after lunch as Shigeki and Norzin were meeting us at the Granduo Shopping Centre at 3pm.

We decided to stick to Kawasaki and wandered around looking for more lens filters. UV filters are so hard to come by now. They only have "protection filters" i.e. multicoated glass ones. Anyway, we bought one more and exchanged another ...
