... returning to integraciao yet again (ughh!!), before finally heading in the right direction, to the beach. Back across the 2 rivers, one of which has an interesting island for sale in the middle, ending up back where I had been 3 hours earlier.
Was happy to finally enter to town and find a place with terrace & hammock that I could stretch to – decided on only one night as hard enough ...

... plants. We passed by refineries and saw tankers waiting off-shore, on our way to our first tourist stop in south Maceio. It was a stop filled with small shops selling local crafts. Dawn spent 2 reals on a colourful knotted thread bookmark that a cute little girl was selling. (She wanted to by a second design from the big brother but I had no change! Doh!) Further on we found a shop that sold all kinds of home decor items...kind of ...
Our next stop was Maceió, a city but with a beach - we just can't seem to leave the coast! We had some difficulty finding our hostel, we managed to get on the right bus from the Rodoviaria but just not get off at the right stop (the directions from the hostel where not great in our defence). After Chris had walked around half the city we decided to get a cab to the hostel which in the heat of the day was a great idea. Maybe we were getting to used ...
Was quite hot in maceio when i got out of the bus at around 5. Before arriving, the bus passed some nice beaches and a nice river with cottages and islands that lookd really interesting. Really wanted to come back there some day. At the bus terminal, i got into a bus towards the center. Trying to see the names of the streets we passed.
