So day one in Pemuteran was devoted to lounging. I discovered that the Hindus eat pork, I love the Hindus its been to long without lovely pork but I talk enough about my love for bacon in England. I love bacon. We used trip advisor to find a good dive company and booked a dive for tomorrow. We lounged on the beach and I went snorkelling in the coral just off shore which is in really good condition and was of course really beautiful. Alarm goes at 7am to wake us up. Getting up at this time should be illegal. We got up this early to get an early start to combat the long journey to the Java island. We knew it would be a challenge just to get there, so we went to the supermarket to get snacks. We headed back for breakfast and meet Tessa who was also doing the journey with us. What with stray dogs, blind bends, mopeds, 40 degree inclines and the occasional rain related surprise river, I don't think sleeping through it is going to be an option. Great queues of lorries make it a slightly slower going affair, but that's ok with me We join a traffic jam for 20 minutes ...
