After a 2 hour flight from Houston, we landed at MCO airport, where the local time was 4.45pm. We collected our bags and went to the bus terminal to take us to International Drive. We had arrived in the Sunshine State - Florida.

We hadn't planned to come to Orlando during our trip, but when the earthquakes and storms started up the west …

We were up and about before 8am today. There were fewer people at breakfast than yesterday so we had the pick of the goods. We had toast and apple juice. Jo then snook a Danish out in her pocket for later.

The I-Ride runs up and down International drive constantly throughout the day. Single fare is $1.25. We bought a 5 day pass for $8 as …

The alarm went off at 8.15am and we both went for breakfast. We had a piece of toast and then snook a muffin and danish back to the room for later. We still haven't got used to eating cakes for breakfast yet. I managed to speak to my dad on skype for a bit while Peter had a shower and then we went to get the I-ride to Aquatica.

Aquatica is …

By the time we'd changed and finished breakfast this morning it was 9.15am and the park had already opened. We didn't fully know how to get to the park but we knew it was just off I-Drive about 3/4 of the way up. We caught the I-Ride from across the street and we planned to take a taxi to the park. As we pulled up to stop 7 the driver said anyone …

I think it's a good thing we're shortly leaving hotels for a few weeks. Home cooking will seriously do us some good. We'd like to blame our budget for all the **** we've been eating. Afterall two double cheeseburgers, fries covered in bacon and cheese with a milkshake is cheaper than one ceasar salad. If we were being honest though I think we'd …

Historical Traveler Reviews BEST WESTERN International Drive - Orlando

    Two Thumbs Up Overall!!

    from monmon

I just returned from my 4 days trip in Orlando. Our flight was delayed so by the time we got to the hotel, it was 2a.m. The check in staff wasn't too friendly but he processed it pretty quickly. But all the other staff are extremely friendly and helped us out with directions and restaurants and stores around the area. Whenever we go in and out, we always got greeted. I was suprised that there was housekeeping everyday. I can't comment about the carpet like other reviews in here. I always bring my own slippers whenever I travel. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient. After the entire day of walking in Disney and Universal, we can just walk next door to the restaurants and gift shops. The only thing that bothers me was the continental breakfast. I read a lot of reviews from other websites and a lot of them comment about the continental breakfast. I was thinking....continental breakfast was one of the few things that can't go wrong. But they're right!! The juice has hardly any taste in it but bitter. The baking goods are soggy. I bought good and juice from the nearby grocery store. I never expect good food in hotels anyways. I really like this hotel overall, I definitely stay in this hotel again when I go back to Orlando

    Checked out early

    from anonymous

I was very disappointed. I made the reservation based on the overall rating for this hotel. It was beyond gross. The carpet stuck to my feet and the bathroom had black mold. We stayed two out of three night and then gave up and checked out early. I couldn't take how dirty it felt. I lost my money on the night I didn't stay but I was glad I left. The price was VERY low for the area (you get what you pay for) but it is worth it to pay more and go somewhere else.

One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in for the price!

    from anonymous

I must say that I am very pleased with the assistance I received right from the start. It was the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in for the price! I made two separate reservations for three consecutive nights and was concerned about being able to keep the same room and they made every effort to make sure that I wouldn't have to change rooms at the end of the first night. The room was very clean and comfortable and the noise from the traffic and other residents was minimal and I got a great nights sleep every night of my stay! It was close to everything I wanted to see which was an added bonus! My compliments to the staff for a job well done! I would recommend it to anyone!

Pleasantly surprised - Most Inexpensive Hotel in Orlando

    from ndgounaris

The Masters Inn in Orlando is the most inexpensive hotel in Orlando (appx. $35/night). You get exactly what you pay for. The rooms were not special, but were very clean. PERFECT for anyone wanting to spend all day at the Disney Parks and just use the hotel room to sleep and pay VERY little. Here is what I liked about this hotel: the location is great (on International Drive directly off the Bronson Highway and about 15 minutes to the Disney parks), cleanliness of rooms, friendliness of staff,. What I didn't like: considering I paid $28/night I really can't complain, but the 'continental' breakfast could have been a little better.

    Not good enough

    from anonymous

This is one of the tackiest hotels I have ever stayed in. We stayed here one night in March 2005. The building looked nice from the outside and it has a nice pool. It was located just off International Dr, which is a good location. However, the room was a bit unpleasant to me and to my husband. It seemed old, dated, dark, and everything looked well worn. The sheets were so thin they looked like they had been washed a billion times. The bed sagged like it was very well worn. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same sheets and the same bed that they used when the building was built perhaps 30, 40, or 50 years ago (whenever it was built). It didn't feel clean. While I really can't pinpoint any one thing that was filthy, I still get an unpleasant feeling thinking about it. IT WAS CHEAP! But if I had it to do over again, I would have paid more and enjoyed the experience more.

    Loved Masters Inn

    Great Hotel, great people!

I will surely come back in my next visit to Orlando.

    Not too bad!

    from anonymous

I booked this hotel as it was the cheapest available through Octopus Travel, since then - and prior to arriving - I had heard some terrible things about it on other websites. So here is my personal review which may set some minds at ease:

The desk staff were extremely friendly and would always welcome you with a "good morning" and would go out of their way to help you. The rooms were cleanish, although the bath could have done with a bit more cleaning and the carpet wasn't vacuumed the whole time I was there (I spilt crumbs on it the first day and they were still there when I left). The air conditioning worked fine, but was a little noisy. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were changed every day. The TV had three HBO channels as well as your normal channels, which is a big plus in my book. The pool and surrounding area was clean (except for the occasional bug floating past). My only major complaint is the fact that there were bins on every stairwell that smelt as if they needed emptying, which isn't the best smell when you are coming home after a few beers!

As an extremely cheap hotel (about £20 a night!) that you are merely using to sleep in, I would rate it as 5 out of 5, but if you have a family, or intend spending quite a bit of time in the room, it may be worth your while to spend a little more and stay elsewhere.

Nothing fancy, but all you really need...

This budget hotel was a pleasant surprise...clean rooms; good housekeeping; nice staff; very convenient location to I-Drive trolley, shops and restaurants; a well-heated outdoor pool that my daughters and I enjoyed on a chilly day. No frills and very basic, but overall an enjoyable experience. Muffins and danish continental breakfast was pretty good--or IHOP & Denny's are minutes away. And the hotel is affiliated with an excellent taxi co. if you need to hire one.

    It was cheap and convenient

    from anonymous

We booked a room for two nights at $36/night. The location was very convenient. At that price, I knew not to expect star treatment, but we checked in and out quickly with no problems. The place was quiet and the accomodations were clean. It is an older hotel, but let's face it, we didn't go to Orlando to stay in the hotel room. We also enjoyed the fact we could walk to nice restaurants.

With the money we saved staying at this hotel we treated ourselves to a nice dinner!

Wish I Would Have Stayed Elsewhere!!

    from anonymous

Well, after sitting in Orlando traffic, we were glad to finally check into our room and take a well-deserved rest. Unfortunately, we had a rude clerk check us in. As soon as we opened the door to our room, you can feel the humidity in the air of the room due to poor ventilation. Once I took my shoes off, the carpet was moist. The sink was dirty as was the toilet. I checked the so called "clean" towels and found a hair on one of the washcloths. Stay away from this place! You are better off spending the extra $75 on a much nocer hotel room!
