This was a very different kind of park. First of all it is huge-over 2,800 acres. Again, we were very glad to have our scooter instead of our bikes. It is heavily wooded which made it nice but what immediately struck us as odd were all the large ponds/lakes that were completely stagnant. No swimming allowed anywhere in the park. ... not imagine being here in the winter, it would be a cold campus. There were a lot of parents and students getting tours. So we listened in and ended up touching the nose of Lincoln for good luck.

We went in to several stores that we don't have in Florida, but didn't end up buying anything.

Tomorrow is on to Utica, Il and Starved Rock State Park and some wonderful hiking in the canyons of the park.

... a class at the YMCA. This is the nicest YMCA we have ever seen and was loaded with people and families!!
We have been on the road 3 weeks today and are looking forward to moving on to Starved Rock State Park and getting some hiking in.
