... settle in for some rest. Then the guy behind me hands me a folded piece of paper. I had noticed before that he was giving me the 'eyes' at the rest stop. But I had pretended not to notice as I was not interested in what he was selling. So the note says: Kiss love Heh? Am I in 4th grade again? I couldn't not open it. Inside it had his name, email address and phone number. And it said: Want to kiss?

HOW DID I INVITE THAT?

Was it the drool on my chin (I'm not ...

Juicy Valencia Oranges

... interesting. I saw all the buildings colored in white with bright orange outlines. Huge stone towers stood on opposite sides of the city at one time used for protecting and overlooking the city. Also the city has an enormous garden running all along the border underneath the bridges and it is wonderful for strolling through on a sunny afternoon. The architecture has this similar style as the past two southern places I visited with lots of bright oranges and ...

Impressions of the ride from Barcelona to Valencia

In 6 days we cycled from Barcelona to Valencia. We followed the coastline, sometimes via a busy national road with lot's of trucks and sometimes we escaped this by taking other (almost deserted streets), posh promenades or small walking paths next to the sea. We passed many deserted cities, which will probably be a consumers paradise in summer. (everywhere they are still building more apartment flats, in spite of the "economical ...

La Tomatina!!!

... not dedicated enough to get there the night before, we were not in the center of the action.

Laura's husband, who is Spanish, graciously drove us to Buñol, but refused to participate. I don't know how many times he told us we were crazy and how horrible, scary, and dangerous it was. We weren't scared. Okay, well, maybe a little, but that didn't stop us. So, as soon as we passed through the little entrance ...

Christmas Day

... down the mountains in true IMAX style but you can't have everything. This theatre is also an OMNIMAX dome like the one in Seattle, not an IMAX but I'm being picky. It was pretty cool to watch IMAX on Christmas Day, where could you do that in the UK? I also visited the Museo de las Ciencias Principe Felipe, the hotel is so close to the Cuidad de las Artes y Ciencas complex, it's perfect. This is pretty much the ...

Valencia 8-9 august 2007

... Santa Maria which apparently used to be a mosque before when Valencia used to be occupied by the Muslims until Christian king, Jaume I, reconquered Valencia, and here where I did my "Jump". However, we didn't go inside because it wasn't free. It wasn't actually the matter of money but personally I just don't understand why all the religious monasteries in Spain are not free of charge. Other examples, The Cathedral of Girona, La Gradana Familia (though ...

Hola!

... a week of the tour actually finishing! We walked back with Shane to our new hostel (new - maybe I should call it old because it wasn't new!) where we had relocated to after being kicked out of Purple Nest. It was a good half hour walk out of town but it wasn't all bad - we were in the part of town that locals actually lived and it had some cute little bars and kiosks, plus an awesome fruit store around the corner. The owner (or runner?) of ...

Valencia and the America's Cup

... Driving into town we were surprised by Valencia's modern architecture. Large glass towers line the main road into town which is offset by bright red dirt in the horizon - much what you would expect in central Australia. After 10 quick minutes and 10 euros we were at our hotel. Lovely. For once we had splashed out on some decent accommodation and Liz was excited by the prospect of lounging by the rooftop pool. We spent day one mingling around the old town - a ...

Im having a list of website to visit later one! Afterwards we went out to the mediamarkt and to visit the rest of Valencia, by late evening we stopped at Carrefour and I got some snacks for the coming days before heading back at Javier to get my bags... by 11hpm it was my departure for a night bus ride of 8h to Granada!
