... managed to screw up public transportation just enough one day to get in a good 6-7km of walking in. Maybe that was to burn some of our newly accumulated calories? We spent much time at the incredible Cuidad de las Artes y Ciencias at their Oceanografic attraction. I annoyed Will all day long with comments like "this is so San Diego. Sea World has this. Valencia IS San Diego." But the actual architecture of Ciudad de las Artes y ...
Valencia, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands fordwi1... interested. They have a great complex- The City of Arts and Sciences which you can easily spend two whole days in. There's everything from dolphin shows to films on Egyptology.
Found the city to be a little quiet and not just as impressive as other spainish cities, such as Seville, but def worth a visit- especially if you can join it up with a feista- I would love to go back for La fallas.
Hello All!
I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write on this. It has been super busy here (which actually means that I spend the majority of my free time siesta-ing). Things have been really great.
For my birthday weekend, two friends and I took a weekend trip to Valencia. We took the train after school on Friday and arrived in Valencia around 9 30pm. It took us around an ...
... anyhow. We all took a walk down the old river where there now lays a large winding park culminating in three very modern buildings, some of which I have forgotten their names, but one was the Arts and Sciences Building. That night we decided to cook together and call it a night.
The next morning we all woke up and went on a walking tour of the city where he highlighted all the ...

So, I know that was kinda anti-clamatic after all that talk about the crowdedness, but really that was the most impressive part of the day. The idea of the Tomatina is fabulous. The little bit of the tomato fight that we were involved in was really fun. However, there were too many people. If they limited the number of people who entered, we would have been able to bend down to pick up the pieces of ...
... their meals together. Warm Meals!!! For a couple days we are off the bread and jelly diet that we do at every other hostel. And we are doing our own laundry!! Who would of thought. We have gained a lot of cultural insights and from the people we've met and we gained a lot of friends. Tomorrow we leave for Salou to see a new city and meet new people. I wish i had more to say.... i miss all of you. Today we decided we are going to Switzerland!!! Ive never seen mountains.
Valencia, Spain isaacfitz... to sit down and nap on the ride back to Valencia. We also chatted with a Dutch couple - I guess they won a trip to Bunol for the tomato fight. Back to the hotel for a shower - Mary didn't get much of the tomato out of her hair, so apparently the tub looked like a blood bath as she showered. After, we went looking for a pair of flip flops to replace the set Mary lost while bathing in the streets of Bunol. We were b!tch-slapped by the ...
Bunol, Spain pwong... Have left Scotty Evans with the task to find us one!! thanks buddy. After spending the day on the beach we drove to Granada to a camp ground, which had a pool, well needed after another very hot day. Up early the next morning to drive into Granada to the Alhambra which is a huge fortress from 11th century. Had to wait inline for an hour to get in as such a popular tourist site. Had a look around the amazing palace, very intricate woodwork and patios. Left just ...
Valencia, Spain kimandmads... to explain why - in parties like these there are so many people from so many different parts of the world that they become a huge exercise in understanding other peoples, places, languages and cultures. What is there in Guatemala? People in Brazil don't ever think about Central America. And what about Indonesia? Its language has many words that were borrowed from Portuguese. Who knows it? And who cares? These meetings have a heavy potential as eye-openers and, as ...
Valčncia, Spain renard... would go, when the train did not seem to be coming and the bus had already left? But the driver turned back to the station after having spoken on the phone. He stopped the bus in the same place as before, then the train passengers were coming in. So eventually it was OK, but what if I hadn't tried to get on? Would the bus had left smoothly to Valencia without the passengers? I just wonder... TBC, in Valencia.
