Off we go in the tiny car to Arles. It is very early morning and beautifully cool and crisp. The morning is clear and bright but there is not too much to see in Arles, on reflection i think we may have been a bit early as there are some really interesting things to see, and i put it on our list to do on our next visit.

We venture onto Nimes where we visit the Roman arena. I am horrified to find that bullfighting is still ...

... than they know what to do with and the very chi chi atmosphere, we managed to wander into a lovely little garden terrace restaurant and had a wonderful dinner for €15. Confit of duck with mushrooms for main and poached pear in homemade chocolate dessert followed by coffee. Plus a bottle of very nice local red for €11. Magnifique!!!!!! It was still light at 9.30 as we drove back across the Vaucluse mountains through another ...

Today was a long day on the bus beginning with pancakes, orange juice and fresh bread. I was in heaven. We arrived in Avignon at 4:45pm only to hear our tour leader cursing the French as the receptionist refused to open check in early for the whole 43 of us... We booked our flights home (with much frustration over the Flight Centre helpline, which ...

... This was a smaller market of jewelries and clothes and such. Sad to say could not find anything to buy at this market.

Back to Arles for our final night at the hotel. The group is going out again tonight but each group will go to a different restaurant. I didn’t feel like I could sit through another 3 or 4 hours of food and wine and talk so I stayed behind, grabbed a Panini and had that plus my cherries in my room while I labeled photos and everyone was ...
