This morning we anchored in Rhodes. We were surprised that most of the shops were open eventhough there were very few tourists. Later we learned that they actually opened just for the 2 cruise ships tourists. Rhodes is a nice town. We walked along the shops and had coffee before returning to the ship.

Being the end of the season we could not go to Crete Island directly, hence our first boat which was only an hour mind you was from Marmaris to Rhode Island, Greece. Now unfortunately our Eurail pass was not valid in Turkey so we were paying for all our transport. Being an international ferry, for only an hour on the boat it cost 45.00 euro each - little we could do about it however!

Hang on to your mind. The island of Rhodes is visited every year by a staggering 750 cruise ships! You do the math, not all the ships are large, but for sure they are ships, and that means tens of thousands of visitors stepping onto her shores every year.
