... us volunteers eat and sleep it is only a short stroll to the Almighty Fridge. That walk in cold storage will forever hold a place in my memory, and unfortunately probably also in my nose. On Tuesday, the 24th of August 2010, we arrived at Park Station in Johannesburg at 9am to catch our bus to Blantyre, leaving at 10am. We had prepared ourselves mentally for the journey, a 31 hour bus trip which was scheduled to arrive in Blantyre in Malawi at 5pm on Wednesday afternoon. We eventually only left Park Station at about 12:30, and our very first encounter of the famous "African Time" was experienced right at home.

... to nearby villages, visiting the markets, renting a bicycle and pedal all over town, enjoy the early morning procession of the monks, have bottomless Lao food at less than ZAR11.00. Such a great town....

... Day 5 - Dont wanna leave :( Its been amazing and dare i say, animal wise, even better than my kenyan safari. Did a early morning bush walk with Israel and john got to brush up on his Poo identifing skills!!! We even saw a dead giraffe which was sad as another giraffe was near and seemed to be sad about the whole thing. After breakfast we dropped Hel's and john at the local taxi station, had a sad goodbye as they made our safari the best experience, and we then headed for the ...
