... not to breathe in the fumes belching from a factory just on the outskirts of the town. We stopped on the way for lunch too at a bakery; for the past few days, lunch has been cheese with pastry or pastry with cheese. A warm, side-plate sized disc of fat with fat. Delicious, cheap at 1-2 euros but not very good for the waistline! Arriving in Kissamou, we did a lap and decided that Chania was much more to our liking and drove back. We ...

We arrived in Chania (pronounced Harn-ya) on Saturday. Despite initially thinking otherwise, we hired a car to drive from Zaros to Chania; wheeling all our luggage (65kg) 1.5km to get to the bus stop in Zaros at 6am was too hard!

I went to Crete in 2011. We lived in an old white house about 20 minutes outside Chania. While there we rented a car and drove all over the island. I saw the most beautiful beach and we had lovely food and company. The smell of thyme and olives that you just get in Greece is also the most amazing smell. I don't know what else to write other than that i fell in love with Crete as well as i have fallen in love with the rest of Greece.

I got some pictures as well.
