Walking all around this town yesterday, about 10km walk in total, with various historical sights mainly about the young samurai's that committed mass suicide here at the time of the civil war (1868). Also quite impressive is the Tsuruga-jo castle, totally destroyed but rebuilt for us to visit.

Yesterday Shana and I got to ride the Shinkansen which is the very fast bullet train that runs around Japan. Train rides in and of themselves are pretty boring. You just sort of sit there and read or whatever. However I did see some funny, interesting and cool things from the train as we zoomed out of Tokyo and north to Shin Shirakawa.

... ones recognizable as an American breakfast were soft boiled eggs, small sausages, fruit, and yogurt. I've learned to like miso soup for breakfast, but can't get used to salad, pickled vegetables, and stewed meats for a morning meal.

We took a taxi back to Aizu Castle so that we could re-visit the gift shop. In the two days since we were there, the cherry trees had gone from being in bud to full blossom. They were simply gorgeous!
