... crow castle' for its unusual black facade was very aesthetically pleasing. The same can be said for the gardens which has big wide open spaces and all the features of a traditional Japanese garden. After visiting Okayama, I headed on to Hiroshima on the slowest bullet train ever( nearly 2 hours for a 40 minute journey because of 20 minute stops at every station on the way!) For a change, this was a bit a different kind of hostel. It's very Japanese style, you sleep on tatami, breakfast is miso soup and rice. Guests are here from Holland, England, Australia and Japan.
I decided actually to stay here an extra day, it's great to be with a bunch of people, where you feel so welcome!

... and the other is in Korea Town in Tokyo, whatever that suburb is. That was what we were told last year. They might be completely gone now, which is a pity as they had some really quirky stuff. The Daiso shops here have roughly the same stuff that we have at home except that some of the shops are 10 times the size.
Leith and Kay left us to pick David and yet another John from the hotel for dinner. The four of us carried on and went to an Italian restaurant ...
... wanted it to be. We bought our lunch for a boat ride out to Naoshima Island. We walked over to the port which was only a few minutes away. We were taking the slow boat out over the Seto Inland Sea, which took about an hour.
It was a great day to be out on the water. The view of the Inland Sea was great although the view of the Naoshima Port wasn't quite so. Sydney Harbour is still the best as far as I am concerned.

day, but fortunately it was a large scale map and it ony took us a couple of hours. On the rather large lake there was a 30min boat trip, Just two to a boat. It would have been lovely but we just too late to take the last boat of the day.
