... one getting frustrated would be me. In the end the guy takes us on his scooter to "the office on the main road" and I could pay there but they charged me in Euro and not the local currency. I have been around long enough to know that's a raw deal..but when I mention it they just told me the machine only operates in Euro! In one incident, the manager chased him into the parking lot waving our 50-rupee (just under $1) lunch bill, complaining that we didn't spend enough to justify his free meal. “What do you want me to do?“ Jahangir responded to the manager’s rants. Honestly, it's tiny here, it was only a choice of two turnings and we took the wrong one! Never mind, we won't make that mistake again. Back at the hotel I decide it's time for a dip. The pool is now completely in shade and I have it to myself. It's a shock to the system but not too bad once I'm in. Ian opts ot read his book, ...

... there's also lots of candles, sparklers and fireworks. The first time we heard fireworks we thought we'd woken up in Baghdad they were so loud and they don't really light up as they're let off just make a huge bang which frightened us half to death at first but we soon got used to it!

We got involved with the celebrations and brought the kids at both schools chocolates and biscuits and gave Mumta, Shri and the girls presents too also to thank them for having ...
