... many of the snowbirds have arrived yet. Saw a small herd of wild burros on the way outside of Q'zite. They were the first wildlife we'd come upon in many- a-mile. Our site here at the Park is quite nice with lots of room to spread out and enjoy the weather here this winter.
Yuma, Arizona, United States rgvtxchrs... misleading; twentieth Century Americana is perhaps most apropos, even though a few of the images were older than that. Whatever else might be said about the décor, it certainly entertains the waiting patrons.

Sunday 21 June 2009

Our intention was to spend the day driving across Southern CA on I-8 West from Yuma to San Diego and then down to Baja California to find a place to stay until Friday morning. Yuma, Arizona, United States jackies-world... shoes and feet when I went off the path to take photos of cactus and flowers. The dogs picked up cactus and had to have them pulled out . .OUCH! Popeye bit at them himself and ended up with a mouth full of thorns.
Yuma, Arizona, United States jackies-world... around behind it a ways to an old mine where everyone hiked around for a couple hours. Being from Alaska, beautiful and green, I have never been impressed with ...
North of Yuma, Arizona, United States jackies-world... snowbirds from the cooler northern climates coming down to spend their winters. It is quite interesting when you are driving around to see all the plates from BC,AB,Sask,Ont. It is nothing to stop at a light and be surrounded buy cars all with plates from everywhere other than Arizona. We make it through the first week and the area starts to grown on us. We spend a lot of time exploring the area. We also connect with our friends Joe and Elsie who are in ...
Yuma, Arizona, United States shiplingYes, it is New Years Eve. We are on the cusp of 2009 and a brand new year! For us, we are looking forward to retirement and becoming full time RVers. This is something we have been working toward for the last 4 years. We are in our thrid RV - the first a 21' trailer, then a 2 slide 32' 5th wheel and now our current home, a 2007 Carriage Cameo 36', 3 slides. We have been so blessed this year. The only tradegy that befell us was the passing ...
Yuma, Arizona, United States dusterbin... everyone was hurting pretty bad and it was mutually agreed that we would stop at the bottom of the pass(113 miles). While this is pretty short of the day's goal, it was our best shot. The good news is that riding tomorrow involves significantly less elevation gain, but can we do 150 miles? We'll just have to wait and see. Until tomorrow... Thanks for sharing our journey. Kerry (and Team Tolero)
Yuma, Arizona, United States kzuber... Havasu to Parker is only 40 miles south, alongside the Colorado River with many resorts along the way; a really nice peace of country. There is something quite special about sun, mountains, deserts, clear blue rivers and palm trees - all in one place! Just my luck! I found a golf course just this side of Parker called Emerald Canyon. Joined up with Jim (boy! did he talk some ****!), Frank and Big Ron from Arkansas ...
