After arriving late at night I was too tired to complain when I was put into a room with another traveler on my tour. I had expected to share throughout my trek, but having paid for a room I had expected a single. I was sharing with a person I had never met (although was lovely) in a tiny room. The en suite was a wet room and there was barely space to move!

The next night, although we were staying in the same hotel with the same company we were moved to another room. It was like being in a different hotel. Spacious, complete with chairs, tables, bath and comfy beds. Yet charged at the same price!

Breakfast is nice, but a little pricey. Worth eating there though if you just want to roll out of bed. Overall, it suited my purpose, though felt a little over priced.

For some reason there is a Buddhist temple on the outskirts of Kathmandu called the Monkey Temple, and the surrounding plantation is populated by vast numbers of the pesky creatures, who steal food from your hands. It is located on the top of a hill overlooking the Kathmandu valley, but it was unfortunately very difficult to see very far because of …

Taking the Nepalese public bus from Kathmandu to the tourist city of Baktapur is an experience I am unlikely to forget. The noisy, dusty, polluted, unorganized, unregulated and chaotic roads of the greater Kathmandu metropolitan area can only be truly appreciated from the dusty seat of a crowded Nepalese public bus. On our way to the bus stop, we …

I havnt slept for 30 hours. Our flight routes took us over some of the largest modern geo-political battlegrounds in the world. First we flew over the crimea, then over Kurdish Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Pakistan. We were disappointed to learn that there was no delegation to meet us at Abu Dhabi, so we sat in mcdonalds for two hours waiting for our …

Im not sure how, but we managed tomake it through today without being hit by a car or rouge motorbike. The combination of one way streets and two way traffic has led to some very dangerous streets! We wandered througj the busy streets, touristing (which is a verb now ive decided) to our hearts content. After a fantastic lunch on a …

It was then time for a bit more shopping, this time it was more useful stuff like beanies, gloves and walking poles for our hike. We got these ...
