... a busy town. Bought Xmas decorations for children and also went to Waitrose to buy some food.Unfortunately the surrounds were very hazy and unable to get photos of the lovely green rolling hills with little villages amongst the trees and sheep and cows grazing in the fields. Took photos of houses etc in Abbotsbury as a quaint village. After a long day's drive reached Weymouth about tea time. Ate at a nice little restaurant called Shelley's ...

We went to Hythe, on the western side of Southampton Harbour. Among its claims to fame is a Victorian pier with the oldest working pier train in the world (listed ...

He appointed an architect to design it (Ben Ferrey from Christchurch). By 1840 a little village, summer villas and Westover Gardens had been built. The Tregonwell Arms began to act as a post office, a guide book had been published and the stage coach began to call. Population records reflect ...

... driver did indicate to us that the suburb we were staying in had a bit of a reputation, for being not very english - you need to speak polish.

Nice, clean, neat, tidy, one bedroom flat in Boscombe. Put our bags down and wandered 20 mtrs up the road to our 'local', the Urban Beach hotel - not a traditional pub, but a nice one. Had a chat with a couple of local blokes then headed back to our flat for our first night in pommy land.
