First stop, A quick shot down the coast, through the true rural south passing rundown homes and a seemingly equal amount of rundown churches, to Edisto Beach to stay with Jazzman, one of my dear, good friends. He manages and tends bar at Grover's (the best restaraunt and bar on the beach) located on the Plantation Golf Course (one of my favorite that I've played in S.C.). Jazzman's popularity in this town pretty much allows him to do anything he wants. So he ...

Savannah, Georgia, United States nicandjessicaWandering Woman and I took a trolley car tour of Savannah today. It is the only Southern city that was not burned by Sherman and has substantial antebellum architecture, unlike other Southern cities.

The Historic District is filled with live oaks and Spanish moss, and old buildings. One thing I learned on the tour was that the term "fair to middlin'" originated from cotton graders. Fair was OK, middlin' was good.

Pics tell the story.

Again, we got some great tips for places to visit later on in our trip. We spent the rest of the day walking around Savannah and taking in all of the sights. We visited Chippewa Square, where a well-known scene from Forrest Gump was filmed and Tom Hanks ...

Savannah, Georgia, United States lagalag1Savannah is really a great place to visit. If you go make sure to take the trolley tours, it's well worth the money. It's nice to sit back, not worry about the traffic and listen to your guide as he narrates the tour. You are free to get on and off as you wish, because there are many areas where you will like to spend some time.
Savannah, Georgia, United States captrick... as husband and wife without further interrupts. Instead of having the guest decide between steak and chicken, a piece of each was provided to all. I was hungry and quickly devoured the meal. Next on the agenda was a little slide presentation of pictures from Katie's and Steve's life apart and finally pictures of the couple together. I looked over at Steve's mom and saw her wiping away some tears as some of Steve's childhood pictures were ...
