When we return it has gotten dark but we walk around the complex. Very nice swimming area and outdoor barbecues. The surf here is very high and rough - Kauai is not known for it's snorkeling but for big wave surfing. We can hear the waves pounding the shore and decide to leave that bit of exploring until we can see what we're doing!
Back at the large gift store, I bought a couple of other small items including the necessary postcard.
After some 30 minutes, we were back on the bus and heading for the hills…literally.
When we got to the lookout around 11.30ish, Lisa unloaded those in the back of the bus first - she said it was fair as those in the front had been unloaded first on the two previous occasions – ...
... and the weather was perfect. The four miles up the river were definitely a struggle. Russell gave me the chillax board, which made going fast very difficult. Once we made it to the end of our four miles, Russell switched boards with me and let me have his lightning fast racing board and I was outta there. It was a great workout and we had a blast.

So - we're home just in time for Australia Day and next week is a new start for all - particularly Anna who will be starting high school :-o - wow, never a dull moment...
