... as we made our way up the the newly built Red Tail Stadium at Beaver Creek. What a stunning view we had not just of the course but the surrounding mountains as well. The course was in perfect condition and the view from the stadium was great we we were able to see a large portion of the downhill run. There was a huge giant screen as well so that we could see the action close up as well.

The course is designed to challenge the best skiers in ...

      Wed 3 December
After marvellous sunny weather for our trip so far the last two days we have had overcast skies. Not quite the bluebird days we were hoping for but still high enough cloud that we could see the spectacular view from the top of Beaver Creek Mountain (3488m high). It was time to unpack the ski bags and try out our new skis.

Stephen headed up the hill in the morning to find his way around and check out the terrain. Me being the cautious one ...

In parts we could see that it was iced over. The range of colours of the surrounding cliffs from the red ochre that we associate with the red centre of Australia to stunning white cliffs ...

... were going to continue our rv trip. An hour later we had it all worked out but we just had to buy all our gear and beat the impending snow storm, which we didn't. Barely made it. But did we have fun watching three feet of snow fall in three days. Simply amazing to our southern eyes. Today we trek on. Next stop a park outside of Gunnison, ...

Coming to the end of an Epic week here in Vail, Colorado.bbyes, it is a long journey from the UK but it's so worth it! 9 inches of snow fell on our first day leading to an epic week of spring skiing. The last two days have been icy and slushy so not long days but it's still awesome to be here at this time of year in the sun. This is our second time in Vail. I prefer Beaver Creek resort but too much is shut down by now. We have been staying ...
