Overly expensive, of course, but excellent service from everyone from check in to concierge to cleaning staff.

Great hotel on the riverwalk
Excellent from start to finish. Room was clean, internet access easy and convenient. The maids were considerate and not pushy. Staff was courteous and helpful. I have stayed at more Marriott facilities than I can remember, this one is right up there at the top in terms of consistently good service and facilties. The restaurant staff was especially nice, even at late hours. I almost forgot to mention, my room (King, not double beds) was spacious. The riverwalk provided a nice assortment of restaurants and there was shopping right across the street. The drug store across the street was really convenient when a friend had a back problem and we needed to quickly purchase a heating pad.
We've Stayed Here Several Times & We Love It!
We've stayed at this location several times and each time we really enjoyed it! This is a great location because it is connected to the mall and is also on the RiverWalk. It is conveniently located within walking distance of most all of the major attractions. The only thing that bothered me was the outrageous parking fees!!! I would think that Marriott would validate parking for the people staying at their hotel.
We stayed at Marriott Rivercenter during a hugh convention (June 3-5, 2004). The hotel was at capacity, but provided outstanding service. The room was cleaned without delays (which was amazing considering the number of guests that week). The valets and parking staff did a great job with the heavy traffic. The concierge lounge staff were very outgoing, cheerful, and helpful. The front desk staff were professional and fast. I will definitely stay at this hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone considering staying in the San Antonio Riverwalk area.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night on the first weekend in spring break. Needless to say the place was BUSY! But the Marriott dealt with this amount of people in an amazing way. They even honored our last minute request not to be in a room next to kids (since it was our only night without ours!). Every person that worked there was courteous and went above and beyond their duty. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit San Antonio. It's a great location and a wonderful place to stay.
Marriott Rivercenter - Disappointing for the price
Location: good; directly on Riverwalk. Disappointing stay in that the a/c did not function properly to cool room considering the fact that it was March. Hate to think what it'd be like in the summer. Room was nicely decorated and clean, but bed was old and uncomfortable. Staff was helpful, however, concierge not knowledgeable of area. FYI: Riverwalk is located "below" street level. Not one hotel employee mentioned this fact. Should you depart from wrong door, you might miss it altogether. Street map a must; locals not good at giving directions. Luckily I did my homework before visiting re restaurants, sights.
Loved San Antonio for New Year's
The Rivercenter Marriott was a great place to stay in San Antonio for New Year's. It was convenient to all the sites and the mall. The Riverwalk was very safe and a lot of fun for New Year's Eve. Would definitely go again.
Loved it at Christmas!
We will return next year! This is a wonderful holiday and at Christmastime, the lights and the riverwalk and the people and the things to do are so fab. Everyone was so friendly. The staff was wonderful. Even the room maids and others always were so wonderful.
Very special ambience and very special hotel. Can't recommend this more highly. Visit this hotel especially in December!!!!
Convenient Location on the Riverwalk
The hotel is very nice. There is more than adequate parking in the parking garage. There are friendly staff to greet you as you enter the hotel. Check In is a breeze. The pool is really nice because it is indoor and outdoor. The rooms are adequate but your view may not be that great depending on which room you get. You could get a view of the roof with the equipment on it or you could get a great view of the riverwalk. I have not had any problems with this location. It is very convenient to the Riverwalk, the Alamo and the Mall. I stayed here yearly from 1994 through 2002. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Very nice facility
We stayed at the Marriott July 10-15, 2002. The wokers were the friendliest, eager to help, serve, etc. The friendliness was from the housekeepers to bell hops to managers. It was awesome. The rooms were spotless and requesting more towels was never a problem. It was very nice and I will defintiely stay here again.
Not exactly what we had hoped for
This Marriott is getting really run down. Our room was dirty and the service was poor. I understand that their primary business comes from conventions and tourist packages, but I thought Marriott would still keep a better house. Will not stay there again.

Our only activity today was an attempt to get the suitcases fuller before we head home in three weeks. We went to many stores over 6 hours and didn't get much at all, despite trying on lots of clothes. The day was pretty warm but it got overcast so the day was comfortable despite being in the late 80s. For lunch we had Taco Bell and for dinner we had ...
First stop today was a visit to the Nature Bridge caves just out of Schertz. We decided to take both tours into the two separate caves. The two caves sit at constant 72f but with 99% humidity the temperature feels more like 80-85f, so as warm as outside the cave. Both tours were 70 mins in length. The first guy seemed a little bored so wasn't that great but the second guy was good. The first tour was large, ...
... expected to see, but still lots of green and shrubbery. There are fewer trees now and some small cacti are appearing. We rolled into Schertz a little early to check in so we topped at the outlet malls for a couple of hours. The weather is quite warm here, early 30s. For dinner we went next door to Denny's then looked around the local Walmart. There are lots of black birds with cool eyes that make a real racket ...

We had a "private tour."
