Historical Traveler Reviews of Marriott Quorum- Galleria Dallas

Definitely higher than a 3 star

from A TripAdvisor Member
Lets start from the staff, they are great, they will make sure your stay is pleasing. I noticed that tripadvisor rated it a 3 star. For those of you who have never been...it is far more superior than a 3 star. Without a doubt it is a 5 star hotel. as the name indicates, it is down the street from the galleria (1-2 minute drive) in a very beautiful and nice area. On the opposite side of the galleria you will find major selections of fine dinning. The hotel has a parking garage, for free. It is currently undergoing renevation (june 2006), however they should be done within the next month or so. The renevations are great. Brighter rooms, very clean, with large flat panels screens that you can hook your laptop or dvd player up to them. The bathrooms are very clean. I only don't like the pressure of the shower head, very low. But except for that, no complaints. The room service takes a little too long, but what hotel doesn't. The morning breakfast is absolutely perfect. A little expensive, but i never miss the breakfast there. Try it for yourself. I have stayed at numerous hotels in dallas, from the westin in the galleria to adams mark and hilton downtown, for some reason none of the hotels come close to this one. Perhaps a combination of all the mentioned. One more thing...the hotel is right by 635, a great highway that connects you to any place you want to go. You will definitely not think otherwise.

Good business hotel

from concetta2
The Marriott Quorum by the Galleria was the perfect business hotel. Food was very good. Service was prompt and efficient. (Bartender was stupendous!)

Only problem was that they scheduled two very different conferences the week I was there and the culture clash was pretty hilarious. But I'm not going to blame the hotel.

Nice Place, very good value

from Nepean01
We stayed for 10 days in April on business. The rooms are comfortable, except there was no fridge. The Internet access was $10.00 a day, which I think is excessive for this calibre of hotel.

The hotel restaurant was fine for breakfast and there are a wide selection of restaurants and bars within the local area. There is plenty of free parking. The indoor/outdoor pool is well laid out and very enjoyable. The free washers and dryers are a nice touch when you are away from home.

The service was very good, with no problems getting the room cleaned or dealing with the front desk staff. The hotel has a free shuttle to the Galleria, a very nice shopping mall about 3 miles away. Access into/out of the hotel to the Interstate or the North Dallas Toll Way is very convenient.

Overall a nice hotel. Not spectacular, but good value and quite comfortable.

Not a bad place to stay

Recently had the opportunity to stay at the Marriott Quorum and I can say that I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel. My wife and I stayed here during one of their "Romance Packages" which puts you on a Concierge Level on an upper floor at a decent price with Champagne/Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Breakfast for 2. We had a nice stay and will return again when in the area. Highlights of the hotel and area

Hotel

The hotel is very clean but it is just getting ready for a remodel. Our room though clean, was a bit aged and worn. This is why I didn't give the hotel a 5 star "excellent" rating. Anyway, room was clean, nothing too fancy, and very important to me, it was quiet. We were lucky to be in a corner room so I am not sure how other rooms might be as I remember walking past one or two rooms on our same floor and could hear some folks getting loud. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room to store some water or beer but alas, no fridge. Staff was very friendly and courteous and offered to help with dinner reservations, etc. There is Starbucks coffee available at the gift shop if you need your a.m. coffee fix along with a breakast muffin/pastry. Nice looking pool that is both indoor and outdoor and the gym overlooks the pool. Decent locker rooms downstairs to change in and lock your stuff up and there is a dry sauna nearby. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast buffett in the hotel restaurant, good omelettes but the price for the buffet was not cheap ($12+). Overall, a clean hotel, with friendly staff that left a good impression on me which means I'll be back.

Location

The hotel is located off the Dallas Toll Parkway just north of the Galleria in the town of Addison. One thing nice about the location of the hotel is how close you are to so many eating establishments. You can pretty much find any food type within a 2 mile radius of the hotel and the hotel can give you a brochure on the 100+ nearby eating options. We went the casual route with a stop at BJ's Restaurant and Brewery which was within walking distance. Decent Chicago style pizza and their Microbrew beer is actually pretty good vs. another local microbrew where the beer tasted like yellow colored water. Anyway, there is no shortage of food places nearby. And since you are near the toll road a drive to downtown shouldn't take anymore than 10-15 minutes. A nice location.

This hotel was awesme!

from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel was great. I mean, it was big, and the help was great...they even had great times with the people staying there who were apart of my convention. Also, there was a shuttle bus that would take you wherever you needed to go (near places I believe). We went to the McDonalds to pick up food for our dinner, and the people on the shuttle bus took us there with no problems. And I should add that the Mickey Ds (McDonalds) there is huge and beautiful-The best one I've seen yet. Also, the shuttle us also took us to and back to the Chinese Restaurant that we went to also on the 1st day there (afternoon). Oh yeah-the pool was great and the exercise room was tons of fun! I definitely reccommened this place.

My wedding in Dallas!

from smonte
I celebrated my wedding at the Dallas Marriott Quorum and the whole jamboree was implausible. It was a night of complete satisfaction and not a moment of worries or frustration. The staff made sure that the food was delicious and that every guest was content during and after the dinner. Amazing lighting effects decorated the dance floor keeping it everything but dull as we all danced the whole night thru. At the end of it all, my guests retired to their hotel rooms where the remainder of their stay was just as pleasant.

Fantastic hotel for a conference!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Our professional group of 175 people had a wonderful conference at this hotel. The staff were unbelievably helpful, the facility was very flexible, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. We also enjoyed all the restaurants available via the shuttle. Can't wait to go back!

Great Staff Nice Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
The staff was friendly and it is in a great location. They recommended a Spa across the way I am so thankful they did. I tried the breakfast it was delivered right at the time I requested. I ordered the continental breakfast I have had this at several hotels and this was by far the best including several 4-5* hotels. Self parking was free and you can park in the garage which I thought was very nice. They had a shuttle I didn't use it but I saw others coming and going. Overall it was a very nice hotel. I think it needs a little renovation or refresher but all in all a great hotel.

Great Stay, Wonderful employees, Southern Hospitality

from A TripAdvisor Member
We had two connecting double rooms (two beds each) for our family of five. Because we were attending a function, we had a really good rate.

The rooms were clean, the bedding was wonderful, and even the towels were plush.

The pool is great, it is indoor and outdoor. The kids had a blast. They have a fair amount of pool toys for guests to use. The workout room looked nice as well.

The brunch in the hotel's restaurant on Sunday was very good, with some unique items.

The only negative is that they charge nearly $10 a day for hi-fi internet, while all the lesser Marriot (Fairmount, Residence Inn, Staybridge Suites, etc) give it to you for free. Go figure.

Most enjoyable stay!!!

from mpd401
I can't say enough about this Marriot. The staff was the nicest I have encountered at any hotel. The location is perfect, close enough to downtown Dallas but far enough away to not feel stuck in the city. Addison has more restaurants than you can imagine within minutes. Gloria's just across the street is a must, and make sure you get the 3 milk cake for desert, it is to die for. The Marriott has free passes to a fitness center just across the street, which was great. You have to ask for a pass at the front desk. The rooms were clean and roomy, fresh smelling every day. Free parking in the garage, and free washers and dryers, which I found handy being away on business for a week. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Dallas area!!
