Arrived at Prague Marriott at almost 4pm after a four-hour train ride from Vienna. Loved the Railjet on first class! We were upgraded by the nice receptionist at OBB Eurorail Aid Office when we made reservations (best part - free of upgrade charge!). Economy seats were fine the previous days we took it, but of course, nothing beats first class.
As with every Marriott Hotel, amenities are awesome. And this particular one even have Acca Kappa toiletries. They didn't have connecting rooms though. So we ended up with rooms across each other. Not bad.
Jason got the rooms with wifi and lounge access (he thinks of everything!) so we never got bored or hungry or thirsty. Which is important when you have a thirteen-year old who's ALWAYS hungry and a mom who falls apart without wifi.
The hotel's location is just perfect! Not in the center of the hustle and bustle but not too far away from the action either. Everything's walkable from the hotel. So that saves us a lot of Euros / CZK. And we have a Christmas market near us, like one building away. The good restaurants are all 5-20 minutes away by walking. And there's a HUGE mall 5 minutes away! Best ever!

Recently rennovated, the Marriott in Prague was fantastic. The staff was professional and courteous, the room was well kept. The view from my room was fantastic. The hotel was centrally located and close to the old town square and all of the sights. I recommend this hotel without hesitation.

This hotel is literally across from the airport and has very nice accommodations. The bar/ breakfast area was especially nice and it really gave the place a good feel. The rooms were nice as well and everything was very clean. I would recommend to all.

          Good Location, Service Needs Work

The hotel was located a short walk from the main train station and a 10-15 minute walk from the Old Town Square. There was also a metro station a couple of minutes walk from the hotel making everything in Prague easily accessible. The room still had the old beds but was big enough and clean. Porters at the hotel are like vultures looking for tips and generally harrass you rather than assist. We avoided them as much as we could, however the porter that showed us to our room refused to leave the room and coughed and carried on trying to get a tip out of us. Any chance he had of getting a tip disappeared with the routine he performed. Reception staff seemed disinterested and were generally abrupt and at times seemed disinterested. Our reservation made on the Marriott website 8 months before our arrival had not been put on the hotel's reservation system and we were initially told we did not have a reservation. Only after some seaching on the central reservations system did they find our reservation. Breakfast was good and the breakfast staff were polite, friendly and attentive as were the staff looking after the Concierge/Tour Desk in the middle of the foyer. Overall, the hotel was in a good location and was well equipped, however the porters tend to treat you more as a source of cash than a guest and you get the impression that the large number of tourists in Prague has eroded service standards a bit as the hotel is always busy and they aren't really concerned about people visiting again.

Busy last full day in Prague

A travel blog entry by rulian.fiske on Sep 25, 2016

Today we were totally on our own - meaning that everything Scenic had ended. We met the Warrens at around 8:30am and went out to look for a more reasonably priced breakfast - Marriott here would charge $25 Euros for the breakfast buffet which we thought was a bit much. We ended up going across the street to the Imperial Art Deco hotel for breakfast …

Ah! We had a good night's sleep, no crack-of-dawn getup and went to bed before midnight. Bob went to work for a while but came back around 11. This morning we did not get up until 8!

We left the hotel shortly before 11, with the Warrens, for the Prague Castle. Martina told us to avoid 9am-11am at the front entrance, and because of Fran's …

We got up at 5:30am and met Martina for the 6:30am walk in the hotel lobby. I did not expect we would have that many people for such an early morning walk! Martina's group had 13, and the other group had a similar number. Wow! Many enthusiastic people! I was impressed.

It was quite chilly when we walked out, and the sun was not out yet. …

First day in Prague, a quick tour

A travel blog entry by rulian.fiske on Sep 22, 2016

Our room at the Prague Marriott was nice and comfortable and I slept relatively well, even though not for many hours. We were up at 6 and started our tour with Martina at 8:15. She took us through various streets, through part of the old town, to the Charles bridge. Then crossed the Charles bridge to the other side of the river, through the Little …

Today was the day for us to disembark our ship the Scenic Ruby and continue the land portion of this trip - Nuremberg, then Prague.

We were up at 6 and got all our luggage out of our cabin door by 7. After breakfast, we were out of our cabin before 8:30. We were to board number 1 bus, with red luggage tags. We waited in the lounge for a …
