Dear Family and Friends,
Today we spent the day on a train excursion traveling on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, only 9 miles up the road from our hotel in Cherokee. Lasting 4.5 hours, the trip took us around 60 miles round ...
... their champagne. It was so cute!! I will have to remember that one! I also observed that many people eat like that every day. There are so many rich people in the world. If they would only share their wealth! I went to a couple different places around and met very nice people. I learned that South Carolina people are very friendly!
Now I am on my way home and ready to be back as always. I had a good time, but need to ...

South of the Border is this rediculous stop on I 95 just south of the South Carolina and North Carolina border. Hence the name. Anyway, they have huge dinasour statues, gift shops, and terrible food. I have been wanting to check it out all summer and I'm stoked I finally did. I bought a bag some nic nacs and a tank top. Tyler got a blanket.
We didn't take any pictures. It just wasn't that kind of a visit.
... up at this very awesome bar with fish nets and stuffed fish on the walls called The Salty Nut. Thpogh the name didn't match the decor, it seemed like a fun place.
After a beer or two Ty and I realized that every guy in the bar had tan cacky shorts. Tyler had frayed cargo shorts and I was wearing jean shorts. We aparently didn't recieve the memo.
We didn't stay out too long.
... having a Summer Concert Series Saturday nights with live music and food vendors. We circled around a few streets before we found a metered parking, paid our $2 in quarters and went down to the park. It was absolutely lovely. There was a spiral water fountain that cascaded down a 40 foot trail into a lake. To make it better, there were swings set up around the waterfall so that you could just sit back and relax.

Up at the crack of dawn today, and drove through to South Carolina. We stayed with friends from NH that recently moved down south. It was great for Gabi & Heather to see each other: All the girls had fun, and sounds like they are still awake chatting now (12:30 am). They'll be cranky when I get them up at 6:30 to head out!
Lexington, South Carolina, United States lgthib... Tip: No kids, try another game. It will spice your stay. You will have to pay for it but hey! you are here and you pay for the rest. Look at a movie on cable with tea and dessert (the best end of day). Tip: TBS, the best movies channel. Well it is officially the end of the fist week even if we arrived only on Tuesday. Lots done, lots still to do. Had a good time so far folks ? I hope so Let's go for the second half.
Myrtle beach, South Carolina, United States michelbouchardWe awoke to a beautiful sunny, 86 degree day today and were quite sad to be heading home -- especially when we heard it was cold snowy at home. We plan on staying overnight in South Carolina. Hopefully, it will not be to cold there. We are going to have to ease our way into it!
We made an early stop. The rain was coming down very hard and visibility was ...
... kill and just checked some stuff out then did the tour which turned out to be really good. I ended up seeing dolphins and got shots of pelicans so I was happy. One the way back we stopped at Fridays for supper. Got back to Myrtle Beach and the colors have changed. You can tell black bike week in getting ready to start.
