      ... picked us up for dinner in Newport. Larry and I are two months apart, and spent childhood summers together. We walked out to the beach to watch sunset, along the harbor. The weather was great - Catalina Island was crystal clear, which apparently seldom happens. Water temperature cold. Had a wonderful dinner at Gulfstream. Our first earthquake, 4.4, near Fontana. Guess we slept through it.
