      An early start this morning and as usual we got an earlier train , which was boarding in 5 mins, so we arrived in Dover before we had left France.
      The worst thing that struck us was the awful state of the English roads. The concrete M20 is diabolical. What on earth foreign visitors must think - its an awful welcome to the country.
      The Spanish road system is superb and the French roads were all open in snow and ice.

      Well, it's cold and snowy and thoroughly miserable.  So to cheer myself up, I thought I would turn my attention to the (almost) imminent trip to S Africa.  I feel warmer already!  We leave on Monday and everything is ready - except for the packing!   So stand by for the forthcoming blog.  This will not be daily but it will, at worst, be weekly, so keep an eye out for future updates ...

      ... and stretch, only to find no.food sold after 4pm. Mark and Nick go to nearby service station while Anna and I return to boat, only to have them return with frozen pizzas in a box!!! Time to test the oven.... Not bad for a last minute option...and great Cadbury choc with a bottle of red. Cards not so good for Anna and I...boys thrash us!!!!
