Unbelievable hotel. Stayed on the 19th floor looking out the convention center area. Eased the heartbreak of being away from my family on Christmas.

... to check out his baby grand and play a bit of music before heading out. We were feeling a little sentimental for our last night, so we decided to go to Winsteads for one last skyscraper. We did our reflection and affirmation circle there in the booth which was nice and fun. When the glass was empty, we headed back to the house where we got to talk to the sisters for a bit, then tried to get to bed quickly after packing. Elaine and I talked for a while before bed, and then we passed ...

... games with some residents. I played Uno with Brad, Lexie, and Katie. Brad was such a fun-loving guy, and he would've won multiple times had he remembered to say Uno. He was super cool, Lexie really loved the fact that he was really into Kung Fu. After that we headed back downstairs to serve the first rush of dinner, where we sang happy birthday to Tiffani and had cake and ice cream. When it was ...

      Menu Item: Jack’s Best

Notes: Features one Crown Prime Beef Rib, Pork Baby Back Ribs, and Beef Burnt Ends with sides of Cheesy Corn Bake, Creamy Coleslaw, & Toast. Had a spicy sauce and a sweet sauce.

Comments: There’s no knife (or teeth for that matter) needed here! You could easily cut everything with a plastic fork if you had to. The prime beef rib was extremely tender. The entire strip fell off the bone when touched. As soon as ...

Menu Item: Ribs & Brisket Plate with Spicy Slaw

Notes: Today was one of the first days after they changed their name from Oklahoma Joe's to Joe's Kansas City

Comments: Best ribs I've ever eaten. They had a unique taste unlike anything I've ever tasted before. The dry rub on them was perfect. The meat just fell off the bone and was extremely tender. The tender, medium cut brisket had an initial smoky bite to it ...

... the ninth, take the loss and give first place back to the Tigers. Got to see Robinson Cano play in this game (he was sick when I was in Seattle) and was booed heartily every at bat (He didn't pick Billy Butler to be in the Home Run Derby a few years back in the All-Star game and the fans here haven't forgotten)

Quick Hitters: Saw the same starting pitcher, Iwajuma, for Seattle ... Butler got thrown out in ...
