        ... than normal for the time of year. Getting sun-withdrawal symptoms and wanting to warm up a bit, we continued west having to miss out on our stop in Mississippi. A shame, because reputedly Meridian has the best ice cream in the land (and we all know which crew member loves ice cream)! However, common sense prevailed and Mesquite Metro Airport (Dallas) won out.

        ... by 2 shots, but struggled in the back 9 holes to lose by a few. The weather in Fort Worth is really warm, into the late 20s and lots of sunshine. The sun and heat took a little out of us during the walks and mini golf so we finished the day outings by gong to a few stores.         Today we took the city tour and JFK tour on a bus. For the first half we were the only passengers : private tour. On the JFK tour we followed the motorcade route, saw the school book repository from where Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK, we went inside LHO' s house, stopped where LHO shot officer Tippit, the theatre where LHO was captured, the police station where Jack Ruby shot LHO.         Bruce and Judy arrived at our hotel at 8am, and we began the 1.5 hour drive out to Tyler. It was a nice time to get to know Judy who is such a warm and lovely Southern woman. Fortunately their car has a DVD player so Sammy happily watched 'Sponge Bob Square Pants' (and sang the song for the remainder of the day).
