After a late evening arrival to Phoenix, the crew slept in except for Laneshia who got up and made here way to a morning of spa services at the Revive Spa at the JW Marriott hotel next door to our resort. I dropped her off and watched her walk her merry way into the spa. I then headed to the store to buy some fresh food, milk and juice for our …

This morning was a golf morning for me. I took advantage of the golf discount and scheduled a round at the JW Marriott Wildfire Golf Club next door and enjoyed it. Very well-kept greens (I'm sure a good portion of my green fees goes towards the water bill).

Enjoying an early 8:36a tee time round of golf was a good way to spend a vacation …

I'm antsy to leave, to get on a plane and start my new life in new places, places I've never seen and am longing to explore. I calmly maintain the placid routine of work and chores, but inside I'm humming and grinning with excitement. ...

... pick up dinner from food trucks at the Festival of Arts. We were reminded it was rush hour in a big city as we crawled slowly on jammed freeways. Unfortunately, the Festival was a dud at 6pm, with maybe 3 food trucks and empty aisles. We turned to our GPS for help and after some circling around, ended up at Thai Hut.

This turned out to be a very yummy choice and we feasted on ...

Excellent choice for a family stay in Phoenix. Although this is more of a vacation/time-share type of resort, I stayed only as part of a three-day vacation hotel stay. I was amazed at the size of the layout of our two-bedroom, two-bath villa. Plenty of space. My teen & pre-teen kids were able to get their own queen-sized separate beds in their room (mandatory for kids in that age range!). Villa contained a full-sized kitchen with family dinner table along with a bar-cabinet table. Plenty of marble cabinets counters in the kitchen and bathrooms. The master bathroom contained a large two-person sized walk-in shower and a deep bathtub, however my wife didn't like that the bathtub was visible from the master bedroom. Washer/dryer set was much appreciated and used, but dryer took forever to dry clothes.
Loved that there were three pools including an adult-only pool. Free internet! Resort villas also did not charge me a "resort fee" that places like this typically charge (bonus points for that!).

Landscaping was great which surprised me with this being Phoenix/desert. Must spend a fortune on water bills. I took advantage of the golf discount and played at the JW Marriott Wildfire Golf Club next door and enjoyed it. Very well-kept greens (I'm sure a good portion of my green fees goes towards the water bill).
Location is a bit of drive to reach the downtown Phoenix area and even Scottsdale was about a 20 minute drive, but on our multiple trips to downtown there was not much of a traffic jam. Probably not a good choice for simply a business trip, but this hotel will definitely be my first choice if returning to the Phoenix area with family.
