... thought we'd get on one of those but as it happened the City Sightseeing bus came first, this is one of those double decker, open topped, jump on jump off things. We paid $39 each... Probably could have done this way cheaper but I hadn't done a lot of research... Yes I know, I can hear the gasps of disbelief, Rodd was a bit surprised too! First stop was Ocean Drive at Miami Beach where we wandered down to have a look at the beach and blow me down who should we run into but H & ...

... ran over a small dog. Roland missed it by a few inches.. Literally. I almost cried. There are so many wild dogs here, and they are even cuter than the ones in Belize. Speaking of almost running things over... We saw a dead monkey in the road :( Then we FINALLY made it to Manuel Antonio! Unfortunately it started raining and the sun had started to set by the time we got here. But Our bungalow is beautiful! Cant wait to explore and see more things ...

Rusty celebrated his big "50" this year and Vera and I threw a surprise birthday party for him. To add to the fun Moira surprised us all by flying down from Holland to help celebrate this special occasion, but we also managed to surprise her by having her long-time, childhood, friend "Vicky" fly down from New York to surprise her. It ...

... cab instead of an attempt at the unpredictable public transport and I didn't put up much resistance. We soon got to our safe haven of a hotel on Miami beach which was probably one of the nicest places we have stayed. Amanda went straight to sleep, so I watched about 10 episodes of 'Throwdown with Bobby Flay' on the Food channel.

Once we had both conserved enough energy, we went out for an early evening walk around Miami Beach. We ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay

    Very comfortable

    from

Very comfortable hotel after a delayed flight from London and long lines at immigration. Staff were nice, breakfast was great and beds were very comfy. Great views of ships from the top floor.

    Not bad Not grand

    from

Key Biscayne itself is a souless and overdeveloped tourist anthill and utterly charmless. The hotel is not excellent in the sense of grand and elegent but it is solid. A good, palatable and not too expensive alternative for families. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you are in miami you should eat elsewhere. You can get good enough hotel food anywhere.

    Loved the Marriott!

    from

We stayed at the Marriott for one night on Dec. 5, 2004 and had a wonderful experience. We arrived at noon and were allowed to check-in right away, even thought check-in is not until 4:00 pm. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept on in a hotel. The view from the 21st floor was awesome and we spent a lot of time just watching the boats in the harbour and cruise ships come in. If we are ever in the Miami area again, we would definitely stay at the Marriott!

Best Hotel stay, great room, great view

    from

We stayed at this hotel August 27 - 28 after our week long cruise. We had a great room with a great view on the top floor. We could see Miami and the Bay where the cruise ships were heading back out to sea. The beds were very comfortable. All of the staff was friendly and courteous. It was my birthday weekend and the concierge gave us some great tips on where to go in South Beach to celebrate. We had a blast!!! If i'm ever in Miami again, we will definitely stay at this great hotel.

    Loved the Marriott

    from

we loved the marriott. we spent two days there before our cruise and the room was great, fantastic food....and the view was unbelieveable.

    Great for Pre-Cruise Wedding Stay

    from

The level of "attention to detail" given by the Miami Marriot Biscayne Bay Staff far exceeded our expectations! From the initial group planning to the final day of the stay, we were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy by the hotel staff.

Service at the hotel exceeded that which we received on the actual cruise! We are frequent cruisers and will definitely stay here again!

    Great Hotel!

    from

I've had the pleasure of staying here twice, the last time being January 04. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the beds are sooooo comfortable!! On both occasions, I was given a room with a balcony that faced the Port of Miami and all the cruise ships. The work out facilities were excellent! They were located on three different floors, connected to each other, and you could look out at the cruise ships while you were running on the treadmills. Outside the main lobby, and not part of the hotel, there are a few little stores, a bar/restaurant and a deli that sells inexpensive bottles of wine. It was nice to buy a few bottles to enjoy on my balcony and to take with me on my cruise. (I put them in my checked luggage and had no problems with breakage or getting them on board Carnival). There was also a shuttle service that took us to South Beach and Bayside. Very nice staff, very friendly.

    Fantastic

    from

My wife and I stayed here in between 3 and 8 night cruises on 2/2/04.

    Best Hotel

    from

After spending a week in a cruise ship cabin this room was so inviting.

The room was spacious, clean and with a nice balcony view of the bay, marina and swimming pool. The bed was so comfy with a big fluffy duvet.

Their is also a little plaza connected from the main lobby floor which has a little grocery store which you can buy just about anything you want. There is also a shuttle bus with very reasonable rates to get to Bayside Marketplace as well as South Beach Miami. Highly recommended.

    Loved the marriott
