Spring has sprung...

... ratio it does not make. But we managed it somehow and even got a wee production line on the go with two of the girls doing their hairdressing duties while everyone else did their make-up and got dressed, drank champagne etc etc. Because it's only the country races not everyone makes such a big deal out of getting dressed up with the dresses and hats but because it was Kristy's hen weekend we were pulling out all the stops with our pretty dresses, fascinators and heels. The ...

Paddlesteaming on

Set off this morning to go on the paddesteamers. We all had an enjoyable time and then pushed the excitement levels to the next step and went on a horse and carriage ride. Was nice to step back in time but was gald to leave it all behind after going to the penny parlour (although the boys seemed to enjoy it) and the old 3 stooges movies - sorry for those that are fans but they don't do ...

Don't want to say goodbye

The boys didn't want to say goodbye to Sam as he went to off to school as we don't know when it will be next until we see him (or the rest of the family) again. Very sad....aawww! Not long after we left Melbourne behind and headed towards Echuca (near the Murray River). It's not really on the way home but Jeremy wanted to go to see the Paddlesteamers. Got in not long after ...

Yummy Mushrooms at Oscars

We arrived late Thursday night after a 3 1/2 hour drive arguing with the GPS as to which way we should drive from Ballarat to Echuca. Thats me anyway, Steve is very relaxed about trusting the GPS directions, gravel roads and all!. I do need to chill out more. The Guiness and black was appreciated, and we were happy to have not 'connected' with any Kangaroos an the way.<br>Winbi River Resort is was ...

Victoria update

Hi all Well this is likely to be our last blog from Oz! I'm writing from Apollo Bay, on the Great Ocean Road. We arrived here earlier today and found somewhere to stay. It is a lovely little hotel and our room overlooks the ocean which is a treat for our last night. We've been out for lunch and will probably head for a nap shortly! We travelled here from Port Fairy which was a small town at the beginning of the Great Ocean Road. It used to be known as Belfast and ...

Off to the Great Ocean Road

... from the pounding of the waves and wind over the years. There were huge cliffs and the waves on the ocean were absolutely massive- definitely the biggest I've ever seen. We stayed at Loch Ard for probably an hour and walked around the many sites. There was a shipwreck at the site about 140 years ago at this site and we saw the beach where the only two survivors (out of 54 people on board) swam ashore and slept in a cave, which was pretty interesting. We ...

The meet and drive to Apollo Bay

... stopped at a lovely local country café with coffees waiting. After the early start the Latte went down like a treat. The group introduced themselves. Many were doing the walk to raise money towards their charity. How great is that! Here I was was on my own challenge. In Apollo Bay, we grabbed some lunch while the vehicles were being ...

SORRY... this is the finished article

... which are essentially rocks, but pretty stunning nonetheless. we met two laid back dutch guys in a teenage mutant hero turtle van who were living in their van for 6 weeks, living off soup and pancakes... we didnt envy them! then we headed up to the grampians which is a huge national forest and saw the odd mini waterfall and lots and lots of kangeroos, who just hung around the campsite all day in their droves. then we went to mount gambier to see ...

The Fusion Project Goes Global

... influence people to really have fun with it, become fascinated by what they're watching like a child who has to get close....who asks there parents to look, who copies, who's transfixed with curiosity. It's fun and it's a great way to learn. MAybe one has had a long hard day and turns up feeling a bit tired. Doesn't want to go home because that's boring but doesn't necessarily want someone crawling all over them. Well they can graze, let's remove the feelings of guilt or invasion and ...

... car when we were overtaken by a car towing a boat, Ben was a little distraught at this, he couldn't believe that I'd let something like that happen. The roads in Australia are long and straight. I'd see a car heading towards me in the opposite direction so decide not to overtake, but then it'd take best part of a minute before we'd pass each other. With both of us driving at about 100 Km/hour this meant that the car would be about 5 Km (3 miles) away when I spotted it ...
