We started the day (after a quick breakfast in our room) by walking around the Medieval town of Provins. Being as UNESCO Heritage site, most of the old town was much more 14th Century, instead of the most common 18th and mid-19th Centuries. Drove into Reims. After the champagne breakfast, a gentle start to the day. We thought we'd planned our excursion into Reims well, only to discover that most of the museums and points of interest were closed on Tuesday (today), not Monday, as is usual.

We had an early train to get to Reims, it was a pretty standard travel day. Got to the train station in Paris only to discover out next train left from a different station so we had to catch the metro. Metros and backpacks are always fun at least this one was so packed. We played our part of the concert much better than the previous day (thankfully, or Viv may have shot us!), and included Ash Wednesday (our feature piece with the video accompaniment) and Hannah's trombone solo. ... in Laon, which has an old section of town that is on a plateau some 300 feet above the surrounding plains. Here, the campground was closed until May, so I set up the tent in a field next to some fishing pond (no shower tonight!). I camouflaged my trailer and took the bike up the hill to see the large cathedral and get some food. Sometimes all it takes is some hot food and nice scenery to make the day alright...though a shower would certainly help!
