... We had very, very tasty snails in the first course, then Paul had rabbit and I had lamb in the second course (also very tasty). Paul had a cheese plate, with a selection of sheep, goat, and cow cheeses. I had a dessert: bananas and chocolate in a filo dough purse. I thought it was good (not great), but Paul didn't like the plantain-style banana. We also had a bottle of excellent Beaujolais. Lovely meal, about three hours of good food and good company. ... our back pack. We spent the evening wandering the city, a stop at the tourism office enlightened me the Möet and C****** was closed for reservations so I wouldn't be able to do there tour. My heart sank I came all this way especially to see their champagne. We had dinner at this French place that had like pub food it was quite nice the poor waitress didn't speak much English and hardly understood ...

... received both by us and the French audience. We played our part of the concert much better than the previous day (thankfully, or Viv may have shot us!), and included Ash Wednesday (our feature piece with the video accompaniment) and Hannah's trombone solo. There was a real buzz in the hall and we had a great time on stage, and the audience loved the music. Tom, our MC extraordinaire, asked the audience at the end if they would like us to play ...

... in Laon, which has an old section of town that is on a plateau some 300 feet above the surrounding plains. Here, the campground was closed until May, so I set up the tent in a field next to some fishing pond (no shower tonight!). I camouflaged my trailer and took the bike up the hill to see the large cathedral and get some food. Sometimes all it takes is some hot food and nice scenery to make the day alright...though a shower would certainly help!

Bonjour. A special thank you to my passengersyesterday for allowing me the chance to spend so much time honing my ""driving on the right hand side of the road" skills.
As it turned out the turkey through whom we booked our accomodation in Champagne (not the owners who are great) gave us directions which were no help at all...........showing the E46 as a right hand turn not a left hand turn and giving us the wrong motorway exit ...
