Playa Santiago Sn Zona Hoteler Manzanillo, Pacific Coast, Mexico, 333-30107
To get to Acapulco from Puerto Vallarta by bus it's about 20 hours so we decide to break the trip up and stop over night in Manzanillo. Driving in we're greeted with torrential rain, thunder and lightening, it's almost tempting to stay on the bus (it's really comfy and they're playing some good DVDs, plus I've somehow managed to perfect the art of reading without feeling sick). Our plan to walk is now over taken by the urge to remain dry and it's a good call. There's localized flooding and at...

... making sure we weren't drifting to shore proceeded to rock and sway for the remainder of the night. Josh pulled an all nighter watching out for the large container ships which often come into Manzanillo as its one of the largest ports on the entire Pacific Coast. Without an engine and with no wind there was really nothing we could do but expect they would not hit us, haha. In the morning ...
Manzanillo, Pacific Coast, Mexico joaquinaround... line running from a compressor over to the diver. Not only were there divers to watch for but because of holding pens for shellfish which are on shallow shoals all over the lagoon the channel which goes into the lagoon was EXTREMELY shallow and narrow. We actually touched keel to sand at one point, really, really shallow and narrow ...
Barra de Navidad, Pacific Coast, Mexico joaquinaroundWe packed up "La Familia" (we started calling my truck this which is Spanish for The Family half way through the trip due to the fact we had my mom and my dad riding for two weeks with us) for the three hour drive to Barra De Navidad or Christmas Bar. We stopped in the Mismaloya area of Puerto Vallarta for lunch and head the best fish we had our entire trip. We got into Barra De Navidad on the weekend of the end of the holiday week and it was ...
Barra de Navidad, Pacific Coast, Mexico joelmunoz1968... Tropicana that has an office in Melaque, Barra de Navidad and La Manzanilla. In our search of an agent who speaks English we met Manuel Inda who can be reached at: many@mexicoCB.com or 509-242-8771 (from Canada or the U.S.) for further information about real estate. A good marketing tool used by the real estate office is the daily 11:00 a.m. tour to look at available real estate in various areas of the region extending as far as La Manzanilla ...
Barra de Navidad, Pacific Coast, Mexico lobo... Since we were so enthusiastic about Barra de Navidad, did that enthusiasm extend to its beaches? Bluntly put, there were better beaches elsewhere. For instance the beach at Rincon de Guayabitos was a better beach and everything pales in comparison to what we found south of Tulum and at Puerto Morales on the Caribbean Coast. (Mayan Riviera). What is unique about Barra de Navidad is ...
Barra de Navidad, Pacific Coast, Mexico lobo... mentioned that her coffee shop survives off tourists and surprisingly that locals can't be convinced of the value of a good cup of coffee. Her coffee is a mix of Vera Cruz and Chiapas and tastes great.(that's my comment) Very importantly, she feels safe here. For a get-away Mexico City is only a one-hour flight from here. Arianne is very knowledgeable about Barra since she has lived and worked in ...
Barra de Navidad - A Beautiful Tropical Feeling, Pacific Coast, Mexico lobo... spectacularly blue Banderas Bay and above all, the impressively developed coastline that cannot escape comparison with the Cote d'Azure or French Riviera. It was hilarious watching Barbara's reactions of frustration as she tried to capture the beautiful coastal scenery from the speeding bus. The pictures were mostly out of focus. Nevertheless, she showed the kind of determination she normally only shows when she is trying to ...
Barra de Navidad, Pacific Coast, Mexico lobo... left, but after confirming it was cold, it was all mine. Whilst he waddled off to retrieve it, I noticed the reason for his particularly short stature - he had bowed legs. Both of them. His knees bent out to the left and right beyond the width of his shoulders. I'd barely taken a second mouthful when a younger barman entered from the street with a bottle under his arm, and promptly presented it to 'ol bow legs, whom, after ...
Manzanillo, Mexico jtrailFew nice days in Sayulita, relaxing on the beautiful beaches and just enjoy some sun. There was a small hippy community here. I almost wanted to rent a hammock at the beach for 20 pesos/night. Me and Dutch finally decided to check in to a small hotel instead. I'm off to Puerto Vallarta this morning. Vallarta is a big resort town, pretty much the pacific coast of Cancun, although not as busy. My first taste of mixing cultures of ...
