Today is the last day of a week in Foley, AL while at the Florida Travelcade Club rally. It has been a fun week with good friends and lots of food and drinks. We went to the Foley Shrimp Festival, the road kill cafe, Jimmy Buffett's sister's restaurant called Lulu's and a number of other places that I can not remember the names of, ...

... on such a hot day. I don't think I have ever seen such a modern fort. It still had cannons. Walking around the beach near the fort, we passed many people fishing and a sandhill crane that was not afraid of us at all. There were many washed-up moon jellies and many more trapped in the surf. I felt sorry for them having no control over which direction they could move! Over head were some interesting birds; F/A-18 hornets according to Jonathan due to the naval base next ...

It was nice to see the water and palm trees again. And to feel warm ...

... did warn us that the traffic on the last stretch would be very slow since everyone would be heading to the beaches here. We crossed a three mile bridge over the bay, then crossed a toll bridge, $1.00 per car, before seeing the sign that said "Welcome to Pensacola Beach". There were many restaurants, shops and hotels lining the street. On the beaches, there were cabanas and covered picnic areas. There were scores of people on the sand and ...

... big deal, we are used to it!

Refreshed, we wake up with one thing on Lisa’s mind. Panera Bread! What ensued was one of those perfect travelling days that is very hard to describe. We got food, we headed back to the beach, and we had the most wonderful time relaxing, reading, writing, snoozing and generally loving life. Initially it was our plan to leave that evening, but given how much we enjoyed the day, we decided to spend ...
