We first found the Marival in April 2007. We had been to Manzanillo in 97, then found out we were three while we were there. Yea, it surprised me too. That pretty well killed all inclusive resort vacations for a few years. When lilsker turned two, we moved into our current neighborhood and met our new neighbors, the Mooses. Ms. Sker and I, and the Mooses decided to do an adults only vaction toVegas in 05. Well the guilt of leaving the kids behind for that quick trip, precipitated Disney World...

... nearest shelter from the downpour...a little beach side restaurant. It had a less-than- sound thatched roof that sent rivulets of water shooting into puddles in the middle of the floor, but it was drier than being out on the beach! We sat around comparing prune-fingers and drinking free margaritas (the perks of traveling in large groups!) until our food came. Stay tuned for some underwater photos (featuring the pufferfish), IŽll ...
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico dylbeano... the painful entrance we get in Australia, but instead I was able to walk easily in. This meant it was not as refreshing, but if we stood where the river hit the ocean we would get cold rushes.
Kind of refreshed we waited on the road sticking out our thumbs and were picked up by a ute. The ute already had four or five Mexican’s sitting in the back but the six of us tourists (all bar me were gringo’s) still fit. The truck took us up a windy ...
... of the Sierra Madras. Definitely off-the-beaten-path style where the local villages are equivalent to parts of a 3rd World Country. Tour guide Daniel led us through several of these rough and rugged trails reaching speeds up to 55mph. Be prepared to get very dirty and deal with the occasional beggars at each stop. End the tour in complete Mexican style with Tequila tasting from a local distillery. GRADE: B+

Wow....what a fun day. Sandy returns to La Casa this year with many beautiful jewels and treasures for making bracelets. Not to mention her two wonderful friends who came to make the day special at La Casa, Cheryl and Carol. We just all had a great time making necklaces and bracelets. "An intense kind of fun" as Cheryl noticed. Carol was rolling around on the floor playing with her little friend before the day was over ...
Lo de Marcos, Nayarit, Mexico lacasa... everyone else, has stopped reading my blogs). I was up at dawn for the early and paddled out, I got a fair few waves but it had dropped even more, like 1-2 foot gutless ****. Still its good to be wet and in Mexico. We drove down to San Pancho later but it was much the same so we had a few beers in the sun. We are back in Sayulita and I guess well sink a few cervezas tonight. The period for swells will go from 12 secs to 16 secs tomorrow which may ...
Sayulita, Mexico bradskey69... till 3:30 when we were able to get in. Bucerias is only 10 minutes by taxi so all was OK. There was a fiesta of sorts in Bucerias to raise money for some cause. The feature was to buy tickets and trade them in for dishes prepared by the local restaurants. Sort of like "A Taste of Edmonton". So we pigged out with our friends Joe and Barb Gandza then went to their place for a nightcap and taxi home. Feb. 25 ...
Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico gclarke_99... by beach. The water was the most incredible crystal clear turquoise blue, with a gorgeous white sand beach. That night I went back to the same club, and there was a live band and a lot more people. There was literally 14 members of the band on stage and people dancing everywhere!! The next morning I got on a bus headed to Varadero. It is like the Cuban equivalent of Cancun, where a peninsula has been turned into a tourist trap. I stayed the rest of my nights in ...
Bucerias, Mexico dolphintherapyHola mis amigos! The last few days have been pretty hectic. I found out I made a HUGE mistake when driving down here! We were supposed to get a permit for my car at the border of Nogales, and didnŽt, so my car is illegally here....great. Everything down here is 100times more complicated than it needs to be, so it is going to be a huge pain trying to work this one out! BUT I luckily have Daniel and Andy ready to help me get things taken care of (thanks guys!). We also had ...
