Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany silberregenIt was sooooo cold in Frankfurt, we didn't want to spend much time here since we had no winter clothing. WE got in late, went to our hotel, then back to the airport to get our flight to Bangkok moved up. We though it would be at 8 that night, but they managed to get us on the next flight out, which was pretty much within the hour. Woohooo! I also kept speaking Italian in Germany... so confused with all the languages.
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany sofenjon... agent and encountered my first, stern, mean German official's disgusted look and firm point up the stairs. There are signs in English and arabic numbers but they are not exactly numerous or clear, but I find my way to some signs indicating the way to Gate B 62. On my way, I locate a duty free shop that sells wine and after much effort at trying to find an Australian Syrah, I finally settled on something that might be a cab from Italy ...
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany dsauter... their walls, not to mention some German candies.

Unfortunately it was time to call it a trip, so we all piled in the car and Flo kindly drove us home on the ultra-efficient Autobahn where nobody drives slowly in the left lane.

Auf wiedersehen! It was a great trip!

Pam and Glenn said:

Pam’s first observation of her old high school alma mater town of Frankfurt was that it had not changed much. From the Bahnhoff down ...
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany the_stamms... Luckily, they were nowhere near us this time.

Toronto to Frankfurt

Instead, this part of our journey had the family of “Incredible Shrinking Babies.” Oh, wait. No. That should be “Shrieking”! One toddler and 2 babies, taking turns at playing banshee… But there was minor entertainment watching “The Purse Lady”, who first tried to distance herself from the Shrieking Babies next to her by ...
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany kveeti... speaking of language...I was quite surprised - despite Frankfurt being a big city with a lot of international business travelers, not many people we encountered spoke good English... anyway, we dropped our things at the hotel and went to the zoo...why zoo? :) ...it's simple: first of all, both Alice and I like going to the zoo... secondly, my angel and Sasha wanted a relaxed, unhurried place to talk ...
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany irenan... of this is where they first bring people and detain them and ask them/interrogate them.. so of course we screwed around in one of the rooms and pretended we were behind bars- her poor dad was looking after 3 5 year olds!!! Then we went to a skyscraper where we had to wait for a half hour and then went up to the top and looked out over Frankfurt!!! It was so cool! her dad is an architect so we literally went over the WHOLE city! he explained EVERYTHING to me!!! haha it was great ...
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany lindsey-canada... took a look at the cathedral, and charged on to Amsterdam or Berlin. This was, of course, me two years ago. As they rushed through, I lay dormant, making casual trips to U of Cologne, or to Bonn, apartment and bicycle searching. I eventually found an apartment in Bonn, right next to the train station (good for commuting), and coincidentally with two very cool roommates, which I learned at one of their birthday parties a few days after ...
Frankfurt, Germany gtrob... have been pretty enjoyable on a different day. The problem was that I was just in too foul of a mood to fully appreciate it. My sadness about leaving for home also didn't help. The old town is pretty neat. It was a little dead since it was a Sunday. I did enjoy the weather - sunny and warm. There were a few hours left before my flight so I decided to check out the auto show, after all. It ...
