Since Jager is such a popular drink here and I've been seeing bottles laying on the streets like crazy, I've decided to start keeping a sort of photo diary of them. The jager photos that I'm posting are from only 3 days in the altstadt. Day 1: 2 photos, Day 2: 7 and Day 3: 8. My God, what a month! <br> For the last month, I've had the wonderful pleasure of hanging out in the company of my fantastic American friends. I already told you about my adventures in Ireland, but that was not the last of my travels. Next stop, I took the overnight train to Cinque Terre to meet my wonderful girl, Katie. ... of thousand years, so there is a lot of history there and a lot of things have happened in its time. Including, of course, WWII. It was very surreal to be in such a city where 11,000 of the approx. 11,050 Jews in Cologne had been taken to concentration camps. The museum spoke openly and frankly about that shameful part of the German history. In the afternoon we took a tour to a more modern part of the city and saw some funky new buildings and more Medieval and Roman structures ...

... to the hostel I went to upload my pictures onto the computer. I sent my friends a couple of emails on how I was doing and then set off to my room. My roommates seem to be on an adventure of their own in Cologne, so I finally had some peace and quiet. I decided to call about my bike tour along the Rhine the next day and before you know it I was fast asleep. This pictures though is my favorite of my own little walking tour.

After a bite of lunch we picked up the rental car from a girl who wanted to make a life as difficult as possible. Spent a few minutes working out the correct route back to the hotel, before navigating it without drama. Went to tea in a lovely restaurant where we ordered Italian from a German waitress in English, after we realised we hadn't eaten a proper meal in almost 2 weeks.
