A Short Hop up the Coast
... and out to sea via the well-buoyed channel before turning left towards Grömitz, about 7 miles up the coast. We tried sailing but even though we had all day, speeds of < 2knots are not entertaining so we reverted to the engine, arriving in the large, modern marina complex by 12:15.

A Lazy Day
We're now pretty much in the wind-down stages of this year’s trip and the same applies to the blog. In fact I have decided that once we return to Burgstaaken on Fehmarn and we’re back at base, there is little point in continuing, I will summarise the last week in a final entry on or about 2nd September. Until then, on with the blog but there is not a lot to report.

Great Sailing
... or whatever it is that constitutes the harbour in Neustadt. It is quite an impressive harbour, with room for 340 boats in boxes all the way up. As it is so stretched out, the council had kindly laid on toilets, showers and washing machines at regular intervals, 8 in all. Very accommodating. Equally accommodating, not that they had any choice, were Andy and Pauline and Odile. I say they had no choice as they weren’t there ...
Last day with Helen
... first one then stopped and turned around, necessitating the following boat to manoeuvre and of course, us, but it was entertaining being so close to the rear end of a large ship (see photo).
Once back in harbour, we saw that Odile was still there, albeit only just as Andy was busy with his warps. They were there long enough to enable us to raft alongside and for me to seek permission from ...
Away from the Madding Crowd
... very pleasant, as there were no medusa due to the freshness of the water and it was warm(ish), 21.5°C. Dinner consisted of salmon salad and after watching a really rather nice sunset, we were soon in bed, as we were quite tired after 4 days of Rallying. A really nice, wind-down day.
Speaking of Rally, Janet sent me some photos when she got home so I will incorporate them here, rather than retrospectively fitting them in to the correct days.
