Yosemite
We called in at the tourist office and picked up details on Yosemite park and set off. There was so much see that it took us 5 hours to actually get there. We kept stopping and taking pictures!
The park is amazing. Unbelievably we couldn't see Half Dome - this was because we in amongst the trees, we finally saw it quite late in the evening …

Other points to note - americans can't do real fish and chips even when they try (its small fish pieces and thin fries), Machaela got giddy when two kids kept asking her to talk because they loved our accents, google told me where Loughborough Drive was (weird) and Machaela saw a mountain lion (bus driver pointed it out but I'm rubbish!).

... nke (auch in ungeöffneten Flaschen und Dosen!), Parfüms, Duschgele, Kosmetikzeugs und alles, was sonst noch riecht, musste in einem speziellen "Bärencontainer" vor der Kabine verstaut werden. Die Schwarzbären riechen nämlich um ein vielfaches besser als Bluthunde (!) und es reichte nicht aus, die Sachen, so wie ich es mir dachte, im Kofferraum zu lassen. Und dass die Dosen nicht bärentauglich sind, wusste ich natürlich auch nicht.
