    This was a very long day. We began at 8 AM and 73 degrees with mostly sunny skies. The temps did get down to 66 in the park, but it was always very comfortable in shirt sleeves. We left Redding and headed west to Lassen Volcanic National Park. The plan was to drive in the west gate and out the south and that is what we did.     ... road - there were signs of a recent fire. We finish the detour and pass some kids playing outside a trailer, so we stopped to confer. They get an adult who has never heard of Kelty Meadow which is (we think) less than 3 miles from them, but he tells us we took a wrong turn after the detour.     ... fortunately enough still had water! They are they highest falls in North America and tumble from a height of 2425 feet in two leaps - Upper Yosemite Falls and Lower. We were going to do the trail to Upper Yosemite falls, however with the 7 mile round trip described as 'strenuous' , I opted us out of that one!
