In the end we had to make a decision
about whether we would turn around and go back to Yosemite Pines for
the night or go through the Tioga Pass and down onto the other side
of Yosemite. We knew Hannah wanted to be in Wi-Fi range for her
birthday and so chose to carry on into Lee Vining, CA. The driving
back and then back into the park again was going to be too much for
Ben with his pain levels still being high.

Day 85 - Hiking the valley

We had an early start as there was a long day of hiking ahead of us. Alison had stocked up on supplies and so we enjoyed breakfast in the room before jumping in the car for the trip into Yosemite Valley.

We had a feast of fajitas for our last nights dinner and started a fire to make s'mores. They were pretty delish! Most of us were knackered so we went to bed early. I have actually found camping to be not too bad. Really glad I bought a decent sleeping bag because it has been pretty ...

Prepare yourselves. This will probably be a long one :) So I missed a few days due to being out of wifi but I shall try to fill you all in. Tuesday we got up at stupid o'clock and jumped in a super fancy black SUV with a Russian lady driving and she took us to the train station to make our way to Yosemite. The train trip was great! So much to see but the highlight was definitely talking to Mum. It may have only been a week and a but but I'm used to talking ...

... As you can imagine this was not my idea of fun, especially when I was sharing with a bunch of 50+ yr. old songwriting hippies!

There was not much we could do on the first night, as we didn’t arrive until gone 5pm so we just had an early dinner and watched a movie. One bonus was we had the kitchen to ourselves as everyone was making use of the onsite café.

The next morning we headed into the park but had to go round a long way as the ...
